did they say they were going to do that?
Don't get me wrong I think they should, but I must have missed the post where they said they would.

It's part of our ever growing todo list. I won't be able to promise this for a certain day, month or year.K-Slash wrote:Hey guys,
Sorry to bother but, when can we expect the notes values to be displayed in delay mode ?
I'm just waiting for this to be sorted out before jumping in the Satin wagon :p !
At the moment I feel that AAX support is a more important issue, for instance.

We will do that, but that's one of the many things we need to add to our framework (affecting all of our products). Currently, our main display can't show arbitrary values to do free conversion of numbers to strings, like '1/th note' or '3.42 kHz'. We are already showing static string with controls that have integer values, like buttons or drop-down menus, but controls like sliders which contain float values can currently only be shown directly by their value.K-Slash wrote:Hey guys,

As fiddling with the framework equals open-heart surgery, we can't serve with an ad-hoc solution, therefore it takes a while. As Urs pointed out, it's on our list.

Why doesn't Satin have undo/redo buttons like Ace, Diva, Zebra? Not critical, just nice to have.

It's no synth, therefore wasn't considered (at least not by me). Still not sure about it. I never used undo/redo myself with realtime effects.n0rd wrote:Why doesn't Satin have undo/redo buttons like Ace, Diva, Zebra? Not critical, just nice to have.

Instead of Undo/Redo a interesting option could be different edit buffers. Cubase has this since some time for all plug-ins at global level but for hosts without such a feature it could be interesting option to have at least 2 edit buffers where the user can switch and compare different settings.
A other small thing... I have always a crackling if switching bypass. There should be some better implementation (some kind of muting before the signal is bypassed). I think that this also occurs while switching presets.

I still think we should put it in.sascha wrote:It's no synth, therefore wasn't considered (at least not by me). Still not sure about it. I never used undo/redo myself with realtime effects.n0rd wrote:Why doesn't Satin have undo/redo buttons like Ace, Diva, Zebra? Not critical, just nice to have.
I think that we can abuse the Groups for this. As there is a popular feature request for Groups to have a memory, it would be quite handy to just use them as 8 global edit buffers.4damind wrote:Instead of Undo/Redo a interesting option could be different edit buffers. That's still releated to the former crash source in Cubase. As far as we know, Cubase is the only host to not handle latency changes well, and their developer team has been alerted through a bug report from beta testers.A other small thing... The process itself could surely cause a short crackle, just like flipping a relay switch on a physical device. I could implement a soft-bypass function that crossfades, but that's no cure for switching presets. The latter demands 2 independent instances, and I'm not sure if the extra cpu hit is worth it.4damind wrote: A other small thing... I have always a crackling if switching bypass. Before opening that can of worms, we'd rather concentrate on the more important things currently, one being AAX support.

I mean the plug-in bypass, not the tape bypassUrs wrote:(hehehe, which bypass switch are we talking about?)

Yes, but the one on the plugin GUI, or the one from the host?4damind wrote:I mean the plug-in bypass, not the tape bypassUrs wrote:(hehehe, which bypass switch are we talking about?)

I like how DMG products work in this regard - there are 8 memory slots in each instance of the plugin, so you can create different settings variations and save them each to a slot, and quickly change between slots to hear the different settings.4damind wrote:Instead of Undo/Redo a interesting option could be different edit buffers. Not really. I wanted maximum authenticity and real-world behaviour. Wrapping the program's envelope around the hiss is not what a real machine does. With one exception: noise reduction4damind wrote:Btw. are there some plans to implement hiss automute?
