You can really make Satin sound anyway you want. I think it would be great if there were more options for lo-fi sound as requested, but you can get some great lo-fi sounds out of it as is too. Try this preset.

It's part of our ever growing todo list. I won't be able to promise this for a certain day, month or year.Urs wrote:K-Slash wrote:Hey guys,
Sorry to bother but, when can we expect the notes values to be displayed in delay mode ?
I'm just waiting for this to be sorted out before jumping in the Satin wagon :p !
At the moment I feel that AAX support is a more important issue, for instance.[/quote]
...THAT is very encouraging...

Hi all, sascha wrote:This 'glitchy' sound you're experiencing occurs with buffer sizes not being multiples of 16 (e.g. arbitrary sizes coming in). Meanwhile, I can tell that we've been able to reproduce it here by forcing our framework to divide the incoming buffer stream into random sub chunks, and the glitch on the feedback path was clearly audible. We spotted a design flaw in the underlying algorithm where writing to and reading from the delay was thrown out-of-sync under those circumstances.pheeleep wrote:Is the feedback knob under the delay section supposed to sound like a really bad reverb when turned up?
Insert any synth with default patch (example: Harmor, Twin2, etc..) and play/record a few notes. Insert Satin, go to delay section and set up a delay (or use a delay preset). Turn up the feedback knob. All that I am hearing is a very bad sort of reverb effect. Is this the intended effect? Don't see myself every using this. Maybe it's because I am trying this on a synth sound? (?)
I fixed it today. We'll have to test some more before I can be 100% sure, but things already look good here.
since Sascha is already on his way home, the pleasure of presenting the new version is all mine:

I'm getting weird exception errors when loading disabled instances of VST3 Satin in a Cubase 7.0.5 64-bit session. (disabled through Cubase, not just bypassed). I couldn't get the error in the VST2 versions and I haven't tried either 32 bit plugins yet. This is with 1.0.2, and I got the error in 1.0 as well:
I either get Cubase exceptions with a blank plugin, this error:

or both. Needless to say, Cubase freaks out shortly afterward.
The "C:\users\Public\Documents\u-he\Satin.data" directory is intact and the Satin.txt is where it should be, and UAC is off in Windows. I made sure the Satin.txt file isn't open.
Again, this only happens when loading a session with disabled VST3 64-bit plugins in Cubase 7.0.5 64-bit. If they are enabled when loading, or if I load them in a new session, everything works fine. I suppose I could just not disable the plugins, but I like having that control.

Undfortunately, Public Documents isn't really an "open" location. I could never make it work for us. Try to just move the whole Satin.data folder into your own documents location and you should be good.
I'm still gobsmacked that Microsoft suggests to use a hidden directory for such data.
That said, 1.0.2 indeed has a new issue, it's releated to some work we did in preparation for the AAX port yesterday. We hope to iron it out today.

From the initial listen this thing seems really cool!
(Do wish your demos covered a bit more of the musical spectrum though [currently classic rock and metal?]—but hey there is a demo version right
Good work again

I am having severe problems with the controller knobs jumping all over the place as i try to scroll them from left to right using a Bamboo graphics tablet as a mouse. No other plug-in has this problem that I have tried yet.
I tried to take a screencast but the framerate doesn't do the problem justice, they flicker between positions very fast:

I am sure you can see what I mean...
Reaper 32bit 4.52 / Windows 7 32bit / Compaq nc6320 Centrino Duo Laptop
It's ok using the laptop trackpad, but i can see no reason why it would not be fine with the graphics tablet as all the other plug-ins are. Any idea? Cheers!

Yup, there seem to be "jumpy knobs" problems with exactly this configuration: Win/Reaper/Satin. No other host (that we tested) shows this behaviour. OSX Reaper is fine...David Else wrote:controller knobs jumping all over the place (...) Reaper 32bit 4.52 / Windows 7 (...) Any idea?
We're onto it!

So, can we download v1.02, or should we wait ?Urs wrote:That said, 1.0.2 indeed has a new issue, it's related to some work we did in preparation for the AAX port yesterday. We hope to iron it out today.

Graphics bug at bottom of preset screen when scrolled down 1.02
How do you insert an image with Mac/Safari ?
Came on here not as a Uhe fanboy (to those to whom these things matter ) to say this plugin is fantastic. Even if you dismiss the Tape emu side of it, the flange and delay sections are worth the admission cost alone. Really good job to all involved.
Maybe I will have to investigate Zebra and Diva now

Just kidding, of course - just post the pic somewhere online.
[EDIT: perhaps use something like Dropbox?]
I suspect it's the same one I posted earlier, though: stuck pixels on the bottom, right?
And yes, definitely check out u-he's other plug-ins.

Since Digital Performer 8.04, with a project loaded medium, playback correctly performed with seven instances of SATIN. As soon as I add an eighth SATIN instance, the speed of the Project is much slowed and the sound deteriorating:.
I tried all settings Buffer (256 to 2024) everything is normal but only when I withdraw or bypasses the eighth instance of SATIN.
MacPro under 10.6.8. Snow Leopard, 10GB RAM.javascript:bbstyle(-1)
I only use the preset "BH Heavy Exciter" for all SATIN open in one group . Will I miss something ?
I'll try with LOGIC 9 to see if the phenomenon is the same.
