Which would have been handy to hear instead of long diatribes about how it isn't perceptible (not accusing you, but, just look at the replies I got instead)
First post on page 3. It may have got lost in the noise though.

Best hiss joke so far!

I like the hiss so im glad it will be a button not a different ratio to the current hiss dial!

KVR IS about the debate... But, I gotta hand it to Urs for maintaining his cool. He should be in politics. :)

That's a strange thing to say since you actuall cut and pasted a quote from Urs in which you selectively ignore the fact that the previous line was him saying exactly that, in order to suggest he was making a point which was the opposite of what he actually said.

So when he said

As for the question about a solo NR - click "Bypass Tape" and there's no hiss at all. Just EQ and compander. Which still at the price of Satin is a steal, compared to what the vintage hardware goes for on eBay

(I guess you can see that I'm tired of the useless bickering after we already announced a "fix" in about every Satin thread known to man)
Your reply somehow missed two separate references to them fixing it in favour of

The vintage hardware sits in a corner of my studio, unused. If I wanted what it did, I'd be using it. The plugin is much more convenient and far more cost effective from a cost per chargeable hour standpoint.

Is your point that you'd like me to pay you to make a version of the plug where you don't *ADD* the hiss? I think I'd be happy to, name your price and lets see what we can do
Maybe if you'd spent more time reading all of the posts you decided to reply to, you wouldnt be whining about things not being 'handy to hear'.

But for new "viewers" just tuning in, what is the main beef going on here?

This:

Digital random noise generators arent random enough. You need proper analog hardware random noise generators for teh true warm analogue hiss.

True that, but that is the next debate!

It is up to you to hear something... you did not respond to statements that the feature you want was going to be added and you did not respond to my attempts to find a solution for you by asking where you had asperity set. You could ignore the "diatribes" and focus on the posts seeking or offering solutions. Maybe not intentionally, but you did the opposite. And for all anyone here knows, your hiss level could have been a result of lack of knowledge of a new plug-in...

I'm glad to hear you're considering more lofi. I just can't seem to turn the hiss up loud enough. Here's hoping for tape speeds down to 0ips. Or -30ips! And simulated tape damage. Poor calibration of the whole tape path! Can you simulate it catching fire?

All the anti-hiss people comments and scolding of anti-hiss are taking away from the hissers. If you have a sinus problem, take an antihisstomine.

Jesus Christ...being two days off KVR and i see these fine threads turned i to standard KVR bullcrap romantic shi**fest. Something which is highly unusual for any U-HE thread.

I feel sorry for devs. at u-he and want to say congratulation on being cool and gentleman..

Also i want to say - thank you guys for giving us super nice tape emulation. Using only one instance on master (as opposed to anti hiss 50000 satin channels) is making a big difference and plugin is quite literally justified for the price and copy protection alone.

Hiss is ok, no hiss ok. Can we agree that this cr** is finally over?
