Hi Fandango, sorry yes Cubasis was just on sale. Apps go on sale all the time, so it's always good to keep an eye out. The sale you missed was the sale I was referring to unfortunately...

Thanks, I've got email alerts set to notify me of any future change in price.audiojunkie wrote:Hi Fandango, sorry yes Cubasis was just on sale. Apps go on sale all the time, so it's always good to keep an eye out. The sale you missed was the sale I was referring to unfortunately...
It'll probably go up now...
Verily, blessed are the pessimists, for they shall not be disappointed.
Seems to be the general consensus here that, even at £35, Cubasis represents a reasonably solid investment, particularly for Cubase users. It's my birthday soon so I may very well treat myself.

Derek's advice is good. I'd wait a while on Cubasis, unless you want a DAW that wipes your projects at random, being crash prone etc. The Steinberg rep here told me the issues I brought up are going to get fixed in the next version (1.7), so I'm gonna give it another try when that's released.

I also want to point out that some DAWs are only buggy on certain idevices or with specific interfaces. i.e. iPad 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.

I agree with what martygras said. I've never had a problem with Cubasis, and most people on the Audiobus forums have never had problems. I'm not trying to invalidate Chris1a's experiences, because I believe they are valid (he works differently than me and probably uses different combos of apps). I just want to give a counter-balance to his experiences, and was very happy when the Steinberg rep, "GN" told him that the project loss issue would be resolved in 1.7--that way, even if a rare crash occurs, the project should be protected.

...that said, I wouldn't complain about BM2 as much if they allowed us to delete the hundreds of megs of crappy samples.....here's hoping that the 2.5 update brings this ability.

I have not followed BM2 lately. Is there a 2.5 date or something?

Yes, it was announced that it is coming soon, but what it has in it hasn't been mentioned by Intua.

Can't you just delete them using iFunbox on your pc? It is freeware.audiojunkie wrote:...that said, I wouldn't complain about BM2 as much if they allowed us to delete the hundreds of megs of crappy samples.....here's hoping that the 2.5 update brings this ability.

I use iExplorer, a very good file manager, but that is payware.

Nope, they don't show up in ifunbox. Supposedly they can only be removed at this time if you jailbreak your system, which I'm not willing to do...
Have you tried it with iExplorer? Just curious....

Nope. The sounds are within the main payload, which is locked down tight by Apple. Not even devs can alter anything inside it after an install. Only way would be a jailbreak I guess.IncarnateX wrote:Can't you just delete them using iFunbox on your pc? I actually like a lot of the factory sounds in BM2. Made some lovely sounds with them lately using the sampler filter and built-in effects.
At least it's not like IK SampleTank where even the crippled free version makes you download 788.8 MB that you can't even use.
