But they are also investors, meaning they expect a return, so Id assume they also have a good amount of debt on the balance sheets that has to be paid off before they see any profit

you can see that they tried to register 'Float' as a Trademark in June 2011 and it was denied. It's probably what they planned on calling the DAW initially.
