But they are also investors, meaning they expect a return, so Id assume they also have a good amount of debt on the balance sheets that has to be paid off before they see any profit

Post

:) I didn't say they were broke. I said they the company Bitwig isn't "generating any income" yet. Relax a little.

If you want to know (technically) what "income" is, see the tax code. :)

Well, I'm one of the main beta testers but I have signed a NDA, so I can't tell you if it's vaporware or not, sorry! Please carry on with your discussion, all this useless speculation is, well, useless.

If we all stop speculating there'd be not many other real purposes for the net. Well... except for free porn of course. :)

Now that you've admitted to being a Bitwig Beta Tester (on KVR no less) expect your PM box to really blow up. :)

Ooooh, and now we know they rank their beta testers in to 'main' and 'not-main'. Slowly the secrecy wall crumbles :)

Post

You heard it here first, Bitwig is vaporware.

I wonder how many PM's he'll get from people asking him to sell them a copy of the beta for $75 or something? :hihi:

Bitwig was shelved because of the lack of bugs, it was too perfect. There was no scope for updates; it was a flawed business model.

:hihi:

Interesting. Fortunately the data is public, so we can take a look at how much money Bitwig gets from us european taxpayers :hihi: Aaand, here it is:

http://www.berlin.de/imperia/md/content ... 300610.pdf

Approved on 30.9.2010 for 490 000 euro and 87 000 euro. However, a more current version of the document here:

http://www.berlin.de/imperia/md/content ... s_2012.pdf

Says 600 000 euro and 88 000 euro. Not bad :? And why the hell does the column that should have a description of their business in it say "Float"? :?:

Post

If you look here:

https://register.dpma.de/DPMAregister/m ... 0315248/DE

you can see that they tried to register 'Float' as a Trademark in June 2011 and it was denied. It's probably what they planned on calling the DAW initially.
