I'm always using a lot of FX on drums before sampling them, even if they're completely respectable as they are. Often I just want to add a lot of subtle colourations to make it a bit more unique. But then I'm not interested in what's "better" than what, it's the permutations of possibilities and being able to demonstrate anything interesting that I find that motivates me.dayjob wrote:marketing people assume that everyone is into polishing turds... because that's what marketing is.zerocrossing wrote:I read this a lot in marketing materials and I always think, "Who's using effects to make their drum loops interesting? Why not start with good drums and go from there?"Aiynzahev wrote:This thing is great for drums because of it's distortion/saturation & filters. It can really make interesting things out of boring drum loops.
And I have to admit the Sigmund audio demos do have quite a cool colour to them.
