Sonimus, here's my advise :

Even if 2, 3 or 10 of us users are exhibiting SUCH NEGATIVE view on the interface... you should seriously take note (and hey, it should all be about the sound, no ? well, it should. but it CAN'T).

This is the first (and only) software in my entire life I cannot look at. simple as that.

I invested 35$ on Sweetone... ok, I consider it as a "thank you" donation for SonEQ (which I still use) but I cannot use it (and obviously, won't even consider SonEQ PRO).

Just my 0.02
No offence. But Its very difficult to believe that you find it impossible to look at the GUI. However some DAW's like Logic will allow you to switch off plugin GUI's completely for a minimalist set of controls. When it comes to pro audio functionality and sound have priority over looks.

As for Sonimus I don't think he is obliged to change the GUI to satisfy a minority of customers, if other people happily bought it because they like the GUI as is. His target market are probably those customers who are into his products for the sound not the aesthetics. Sonimus are only a small operation they couldn't possibly respond to and implement each & every single feature request that people ask for. They have to stop somewhere.

The sound and handling of SonEQ Pro are superb, it's very easy to dial in what you want. The drive is very subtle and gives some nice colour. I didn't get the Cut options yet but some manual reading will help I guess.

Good work
Your thought on Sweetone?
Looks similar to the Softube Tilt, but not sure how it compares sound wise........
Its the best tilt EQ out there bar none IMHO YMMV.
The softube? I agree, that's one of the reasons I find it hard to get rid of ilok. The tilt is so damn sweet. Flawless plugin.
Apologies! I meant the Sonimus one. Haven't tried the Softube, no iLok.

I'll be buying this on Monday when I get paid, as I love the Sonimus plugs.

I can't comment on the interface yet, because I've not used it. It looks cool form the screen pic on the website.
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

I have a question for you :
Would you NOT USE SonEQ if it were 2D ?

Honest to god, I can't look at it. I feel dizzy looking at it. I am probably the last person on earth you should tell about sound vs looks.

Sorry friend... that's my opinion (and apparently, not only my opinion).

BTW, if you say to sonimus : "don't listen to a bunch of people who say this and that about the interface", but refuse to let them change it (hence : the interface IS critically important to you)... where does this leave YOU ?...

GUI doesn't look crap but it does look convex.
Pigments Presets, Omnisphere Expansions, Dune, Serum, and Thorn Sound Packs. Diva, Zebra, TAL, and Repro Sound Banks. Massive discounts - https://NewLoops.com

It does that because of the way it has been rendered, with the virtual camera much too close. It looks like you're pressing your nose against a real machine - only, even if the image looks like that on your retinas, it's not what the brain 'sees'.

So, the two-dimensional rendering is anti-perceptive, if you will. Since it IS two-dimensional, the brain can't perform its 3D interpretation magic. That's why the GUI looks strange.

I suspect that all the otherwise good design needs to look fine (for everyone!) is just to be re-rendered at a longer virtual distance with a longer focal length virtual camera.

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

Oh, thank you ! that's the word (convex) I was looking for, as a non-native English speaker... :)

My thoughts exactly. I hope it does get re-rendered, as I'd like to try it.

I don't have any problems with this GUI. And I can't believe the GUI is getting so much attention: you guys mean to say that if this was the most amazing EQ you ever used, you wouldn't use it because of the way it looks? Really?

That would seem to be the case for a few people
Personally I like the GUI, but it's the sound that is the winner with this EQ....and that Drive control :wheee: :tu:

Some people really tend to suffer from 3D sickness etc.
It's not a matter of taste /aesthetics.

I get slight dizzy if I look at the GUI for 20 seconds or so.
I can stand it, but I guess some people get more dizzy and they wouldn't use it because of that real pain.

Is there a demo yet?

Quite like the freeb EQ, but I don't want to spend on the commercial product without knowing what's different.
