You mean the features from Bitwig in Cubase?

Pretty much agree, but hey... I can dream.
No the OPs OP, no public beta for us mere mortals. :hihi:

Interesting, I wasn't aware of that feature. I sure hope BW has it, that sounds useful. Similar to the split layer mode in Omnisphere.
I haven't tried this at all... very cool to set it up for key-switching! This just opened a lot of possibilities, but what to try this with first?

It is such a great feature. And it works with any synths or effects. Add a synth a track, hit Com-G to group it... Drag another synth into a second chain. And do it again. Now there are 3 chains. There is an easy to use graph so set one synth to play low notes (key split), and the other two layer in the upper end. Select presets and play. Give each synth its own chain of effects. You can even split the signal from 1 synth into two effects chains by nesting racks. You can also switch between chains using a midi controller. Then when you have a setup you like, just drag it to the browser to save the whole thing.

I cannot imagine not having the Live racks!

You can key switch or velocity switch, or both... You can make a sharp change, or blend between them over a user defined range. There is also a chain select option and you can use a midi controller like modwheel to switch live between chains while you play.

You could make a bass sound from C1-C3 From C3 up it plays another synth. At C4, a 3rd synth will start to fade in and it will be fully sounding (layered) by C5... just one example

Is there anyway to get this switch via midi keys? I'd love for it to work similar to Kontakt instruments (switching between different timbres or articulations) but it will only map to one key at a time.

pdxindy, I'm ready to propose to you. What size ring are you?

I love this. I'm kicking myself that I never thought of doing this before. I just ran a cheesy bass line into an instance of Zebra, ACE and Aalto, then automated the switching (only used my mouse, no midi knobs assigned yet). Then I fed this through NI's Drive and into Permut8. F*cking beautiful is all I can say.

Do you mean key switching for live play or within a DAW?

Can you do what you need with midi cc's?

And, you probably already know about the "Auto" tab in Kontakt, right? It has over 500 editable parameter codes in host automation. A lot of times I'll remap to these to free up the key switches and better/easier automation.

Is that something that will accomplish your need?

I think people are taking these things - way - too personally.

I made a thread because someone asked me to. I don't personally care that much if people flood it with silly personal arguments, I only was passing along a request from another user. Why he didn't make the thread himself? No idea. Now that I see it has caused ill-will and is causing snide comments apparently directed at me, I regret doing it.

Anyway, reading various threads here today (Sonar, Bitwig, etc, etc) it seems something bad is just in the air, people getting personaly offended, angry, arguing, throwing really personal insults, etc, etc, over really nothing much at all.

Like I said last time I took a long break from all this madness ... "....and so ends my most recent foray ino KVR". :) I can only take so much of this place at a time and I think I crossed that threshold already. :)

I meant to do what I already can do in Kontakt, but now in Live's Device Chain. I'd love to simply press a key and have it switch to a different synth, but unfortunately it seems you can only assign one midi assignment per switching parameter.

It actually works out just fine without it this way. In my other post I wrote what I did and well, I love the results!

I would never do that!

But on a serious note, it's really been frustrating of late. And it's not just this, it's a bunch of things.

But mostly, I like it here.
