audiosabre wrote:I got a quick Q; is there an upgrade from the old 'The Perfect Storm' Bundle to the new one with all these lovely presets.

I can only find updates for individual products.

Also the B2 Preset Expansions hyperlink on this page directs to http://www.2caudio.com/products/aetherexpansions, not http://www.2caudio.com/products/b2expansions

Yup. We will email official announcements tomorrow night most likely. But here is the basic info:

There are four new Preset Expansions for B2. They are each $24.95, or $69.95 for all four purchased at the same time. Each one has over 200 new presets. > 800 new presets in total. New customers can pick up B2 and all B2 expansions for $299.95 in one purchase.

There are also two new Aether Expansions, for a total of 4 Aether expansions now. They are the same price and have the same option to purchase together with Aether.

The Perfect Storm bundle has been upgraded also to version 2.5. All new preset expansions will be added to it. So new customers can obtain, Aether, B2, Breeze and all 8 presets expansions for $499.95. This is an incredible value IMHO...

Existing Perfect Storm customers can add all 6 new preset expansions for $49.95.

The two new Aether expansions are an evolution and final revision of the presets Den has made over the years for Aether. Profits from these will be shared with Den to reward him for his vast efforts on these. Many people here and on GS suggested he be compensated for all his work on these, so we are listening to that advice. His latest revisions of these has been optimized to use the new per-preset and OS and Mod options as well as one final pass of adjustments and refinements. They are truly an outstanding addition to Aether.

Here's the upgrade info for Perfect Storm (or equivalent) customers to get all 6 new preset expansions for $49.95:

http://www.galbanum.com/shop/product_in ... cts_id=107

Note that this supplies the installers for all products as well, so you do not need to download them all separately if you are a Perfect Storm (or equivalent) customer. This order is all you need.

(If you don't want the preset expansions, you can simply download the individual product updates at no cost. They are however, highly recommended.)

If you do not own all of these products and wish to upgrade whatever you do have to the full Perfect Storm 2.5 bundle, please email us and let us know what do you have and we will handle this on a case-by-case basis. It is our opinion that all customers should eventually be Perfect Storm customers and we are happy to help you get there.

I think this covers all possible tangents and trajectories of customer needs? Man it is like playing 3D chess updating three products, plus new expansions, plus bundles, etc. etc. all at once. :D If I missed something, just let me know...

$49.95 not bad value.

FWIW there's a lot of very nice, unique and useful presets in the bundle. Very happy and already got the creative matter juicing.

Thanks for the offer..

What's next for your guys :)

Thanks! Means a lot. That's what we hope to achieve: to inspire. And when someone tells us that have succeeded, it feels really great!

Thanks for the question.

I've added this info to the updates section of our site:

To update only the Aether Creativity and Integrity Expansions that you currently own follow these directions:

http://www.2caudio.com/support/updates# ... expansions

To upgrade to the Perfect Storm 2.5 (which supplies the two original Aether expansions, all the new expansions, and all products in one download) follow these directions:

Thanks Andrew, I just got the mail. Seems a very fair deal for an incredible amount of presets. It's not just the quantity either, I know a lot of love and care is put into the presets. I appreciate that the factory presets and expansion packs are very usable.

Very cool of you to give the product updates for free too. Kudos :)

Here is a demo download for the Aether Preset Expansions:

http://2caudio.com/sitecontent/products ... s_Demo.zip

This contains 10 presets from each expansion for you to try out and explore. Use "Import Package" to copy the "Aether Exp Demo" package folder into your presets. Full instructions are included in the text file.

If you already have the new presets, no need to do this. It's only for people who don't have them, and would like some way to demo them and get a feel for the kind of thing they offer.

We will add these to the demo version of Aether as well.

Awesome new 2CAudio interview with the queen of of EDM and Rocktronica vocals Jes:

http://www.2caudio.com/network/artists/Jes

Image

Really an honor, as I think her ethereal vocals have helped define the sound of female vocals in EDM for the last 5-10 years! Apparently "ethereal" and "Aether" go quite well together! Who knew? :D

She offers a lot of great tips and insights! Definitely worth the read!! Thanks Jes!!

Awesome new 2CAudio interview with leading Hollywood composer/ochestrator/arranger Joseph Trapanese:

http://www.2caudio.com/network/artists/JosephTrapanese

Image

Joseph talks about his work on Oblivion with M83, Tron Legacy with Daft Punk, The Bourne Ulimatum with Moby, offers very valuable insights into reverb use in major films, hints at a few plot spolilers and more! :D

Additionally, Joseph has created 11 custom presets for Aether that he designed and used extensively on Tron Uprising and Oblivion. In rare generosity he has decided to share these presets with the community to give everyone a peak behind the curtain and show off some of the sounds that are being used on Hollywood's most epic productions. Thanks so much Joseph! We love you work!

I'm demoing Aether right now and really love it's sound.

But one thing I don't like is the GUI size, either too small in normal mode or WAY TOO BIG in HD mode. Any chance of a middle size? I'm using an 1080p screen.

Post

thanks...

not in the immediate future. Maybe at some point down the road we can offer more than two sizes.

(It becomes too much to manage tons of different skin sizes when they are all made with rendered pngs with pseudo 3D elements and "stylized photo-realism". It is INFINITELY more simple to do if your GUI is simply very simple procedural 2D shapes. Then it is trivial and takes about 30 sec instead of almost a week to rebuild a GUI like Aether.)

The HD skin looks great on a 2560*1600, 2560*1440, or 4K display...

if you are 1080p or smaller, the normal/small size is the only option at the moment. (ironically we were told this small size was "WAY TOO BIG" when we first offered this size in 2009... Funny how things change over time. :D )

Post

Thanx for your detailed answer! I understand it's hard work but I find it quite weird that for the 1080p display (which I guess the vast majority of people use) none of the two sizes seem right.

Ha ha, maybe you're too future oriented? The present is important too...

The ironic part is no one said the normal size was too small until we offered the HD mode. Then, and only then, people started wishing there was something in-between the two sizes. People have been using, and loving, the normal size GUI since 2009 without issue.

All the various size and color variations add up, well more correctly they "multiply up" for waayyy to many options to manage the way we are currently doing things. We will try to offer more size choices in the future, but right now we are finishing our next product. It's a monster. :!:

ya, i've been told that before. :D But you haven't seen what we are working on now. You might decide "future" is good if you had... :D

Aether (and Breeze) were one of the very first plugins I installed on my new computer and I can safely say they're going to be all over my tracks.
I didn't really use them before as my old Core2Duo couln't easily handle them but those days are gone.
And since I got them, I never looked at the competition.
