Is there already Granular Synthesis in MUX? Would be great if there were...

With or without countdown?sl23 wrote:It just isn't the same, sorry I'm not being picky, it's just that with WaitNote, soon as you start playing it records from the first note and is easily performed without pressing a button in time with first note.
Oh, ok i see what you mean now.Re: look of Buttons. No they don't, well not the way I mean. Look at the new Play button and then look at Menu/Session and Browser buttons. What's the difference? Play has dark background with light green triangle when pressed. That's according to my theme though. But those other buttons have light green bkgrnd and dark icons when selected. Where as it would be much better to copy the way the the Play button looks? Just my opinion

1) Definitely a way to enable time stretch on samples, especially if someone wants to remix a track to another tempo. And, of course, you could have it set so it snaps to the grid in whatever quantization is chosen in the session at a given time.
2) This might be a big one, but possibly GUI interfaces for effects like EQ, perhaps for a spectral analyzer? Not too realistic I know, but I'm sure it can be easier for beginners.
3) A soft clipper, as opposed to a hard limiter, as sometimes hard limiters can clip if the ceiling is too high, which a soft clipper can get rid of, so sessions sound more mastered.
Awaiting what M6 might bring.

It sure does! With "users" i didn't mean to restrict to MU users, but all users of music software, also the users just watching MuLab/MUX.chrisby wrote:Not actually a user so probably my vote doesn't count

I will agree with support of more than 16 MIDI channels (no merging, please), sysex, and feedback in MUX.

1. FM/PD for Osc's
2. ARP module (with midi drag/drop please)
3. PDC
Oh and some more filter models would be awesome too

Well cool, thanks... though it looks like so far no one else has it on their list. Darnit. Actually I can imagine it would be a lot of work and not at all "low hanging fruit". Regardless I have a bid in in the charity auction thread so I may be a user yet!mutools wrote:It sure does! Feedback loops for audio.
+1 for FM/PM/PD.
+0.75 for more than 16 MIDI channels, not the most important for me right now but I didn't want to leave the last wish unused.

Hmmm... let's see,
1. Auto scroll not tied to mouse scroll
2. Shortcuts show up in menus
3. send racks that stay at the end of regular racks (in the mixer) and fold to a single strip size (possibly)
Only 3?

3 more...
1. Select track in arrange with shortcut... expand automation track as well
2. Auto expand selected track...
3. Midi plugins for racks, arp, stack VSTs, ktbd. splitter

I'd also like FM/PD Synthesis option. Ability to combine FM/PD sounds with existing oscillators would be great.
An arpeggiator would be good also.

1 Tempo Tap
2 Sustain Pedal event bar. Easy editing....
3 The ability to have a different cursor alternative to the thin pencil. I know, it's an unusual call.
I'm working with a Demo. Great product.

1) same here fm/pd possibilities
2) ability to do feedback loops
3) comb filter (I guess this would be possible with feedback)

Hey guys an objective question in order to understand things better:
FM/PM seems to appear on many top 3 wishlists. Why do you want that so much? I mean there are many VSTIs that do that so in fact it's easily usable already in MuLab/MUX, right? So why do you guys put that in your top 3? Aren't there other more workflow-related wishes that are more important for you and which are not solvable using a 3rd party tool?
Pls don't interprete my question as me being rejective against FM/PM, certainly not, it's just for proper analysis of what's needed most.

mulab/mux have the best sounding synths i use, so the addition of fm would extend sound possibilities. a good example of even simple fm making a great synth something special is the an1x, so in a modular environment fm synthesis would i expect make mulab synths even better sounding than at present.
the only major workflow issue i have is the non destructive cutting of sequences;if i slice a 4 bar sequence in two i want 2 separate 2 bar sequences with only the 2 bars showing in each sequence!
