I've been quite negative on Lush, here, and in past threads. This is mainly due to my disappointment with it - I was expecting so much after sooo much development time. If I set aside that disappointment, I'm left with a very impressive sounding synth, that, as someone else mentioned, has a very different sound when compared to its main competitors. If they address these things in future updates, I will definitely take another look!dexterbella wrote:According to the latest forum post on their website D16 are working on an update to LuSH that should include a larger GUI and multicore support.
Where is the love for D16 Lush 101?

And approximately none of those plans have been achieved.

Hasn't stuff like that been "solved" by DAWs like Logic X with it's resizable plugin windows?ariston wrote:1. The GUI is irritatingly small.
Or rather, why don't all DAWs have resizable plugin windows!

I feel the same way. I think Lush-101 is superb. If some deity commanded that I give up Massive or Lush, the decision wouldn't take even a second. Bye, Massive.TheKid wrote:I really wonder why synths like Massive and Sylenth get pounded with sound sets/presets while Lush 101 seems to get completely ignored.

I'm sure they mentioned a paid upgrade version called Nepheton 2 coming on their forum.electro wrote:d16 are not updating their drum machines, but they published a road map for Lush updates.re_mute wrote:4. Global assignments of CCs makes it a no go for me. Get a modern per patch mod matrix like the rest of the modern world.

It's one of my 'go to synths' along with Diva an Omnisphere. I think it sounds wonderful and I like the GUI dead easy for a spaz like myself to navigate.
However it does kick the crap out of my CPU, mostly have to render the audio offline.

I do not have any of these problems and love Lush 101. I think the number of presets developed is not a valid indicator of the users acceptance, not even those who dare to post here as there may be many others who just don't care about forums.

There are factory presets I simply cannot play more than 2 notes in an empty project... I don't mind bounce/freeze, but I have to be able to play it in the first place. Sound quality is good, but the cpu use is just too high.
Also, the GUI is too small. On my screen it is hard to hit certain buttons with the mouse on the first try and some text is actually hard to read. Besides the size, I would say they did an excellent job on the GUI and controls. The layers are smartly implemented.

I agree with you...I am still holding onto Lush with the faith in D16 and their Polish determination that they will deliver the tweaks on CPU they promised back in January this year...10 months almost gone by guys.qube123 wrote:It's one of my 'go to synths' along with Diva an Omnisphere. Paid or not, I don't forsee any updates outside of Lush and probably some new product releases. Instead of improving older products, they developed Sigmund.breakmixer wrote:I'm sure they mentioned a paid upgrade version called Nepheton 2 coming on their forum.electro wrote:d16 are not updating their drum machines, but they published a road map for Lush updates.re_mute wrote:4. Their x0x machines from 2007 are good, but 2014 may be the right time for another developer to take a stab at it.

I demoed Lush when I was looking for my first analog-sounding soft synth. The choice was between Lush, Diva, Imposcar, and Synth Squad. Although these synths have different characters, and I'd like to own all of them, I (and probably many other amateur producers) can't justify the cost of more than a couple of them.
While Lush sounds great, IMO it isn't a better value than Diva (and Synth Squad when on sale).
I might look into Monark because it seems to offer something new (i.e., the best bass sounds IMO). But Lush doesn't pique my interest in a similar way.

It's a beautiful sounding synth. I'm holding on to it in the hope the CPU performance gets better in a future update. It's currently unusable for me in almost any project. I used it for a lead in one, and had to bounce it down as it brought my CPU to is knees as soon as it kicked in (an i7 3770 quad too).
