It sounds a bit like the typical Jupiter synth which are used very often this time. For this type Diva is the right synth. For the more brass sounds FXpansion too (Strobe can this Juno/SH touch very well).

It doesn't sound for me very much like Korg (also very often used this time) for this there is still the Korg Legacy Edition available and for the typical DX7 sounds there is the NI FM8.
But I would start with Diva and FXpansion Synthsquad.

i demo'ed the fxpansions synths, im no pro synth user so my opinion is not really well i guess but those didnt impress me somehow, i browsed through many presets, tried cvhanges etc. it didnt give me the WOW and fat sound in my ears.

DIVA somehow does it, i start to like it, like omnisphere which i liked also(though i bought it immediately!). how is DIVA's Juno template and moog compared to arturia and tal? so with DIVA i wouldnt need those anymore i guess?

Don't forget that it's not the synth only, you'll need the right effects, too.

In this case, the right amount of Unisono or layers as well as delay, reverb, (guitar) amps, EQ, maybe some additional distortion & saturation.

There may be synths whose presets sound thin but with some effects they'll sound great while there may be other synths with super-fat presets that sound ugly with effects or doesn't fit into a track. Just sayin'...

The Synth Squad factory presets don't fully show what the synths are capable of IMO. Listen to the demos for Electric Himalaya's preset packs. They'll give you the sounds you're looking for. Very fat and analog-sounding.


Or just use Synth1 (edit: or is it Predator?) like this guy:

Synth1 was built after the Nordlead 2 but the first Nord Lead was built 1995, so it's not really a synth which was used in the 80th
But the Nord shares some basic ideas of the Prophet V and the Prophet V was used by a lot of artists from the 80s (from Duran Duran to Pet Shop Boys, Eurythmics,...).
So besides Synth1, there is also the Arturia Prophet V which could be closer to some of the typical 80s sounds because... it's some of the very often used 80s synth

But it depends of the used DAW. I would not search too far away and instead try the bundled VAs from the DAW. For Cubase users it's highly recommended to use Retrologue, for Logic users the ES2...

MPM aka Multipac has very 80s sounding tunes and uses (or did use) Synth1 nigh exclusively as well, apparently.
As he reveals in THIS THREAD on GearSlutz (his user name was musicman09). Also in that thread a fellow claims that the dude that is Mitch Murder told him he apparently used Predator (though I do seem to recall him mentioning somewhere on comments of his YouTube vids that he also used Synth1 but I could be mistaken) and that another of these new retro 80s artists used free vsts and old soundfonts.

I may have gotten the two confused. I thought it was the other way around (and that MPM used Predator).

Either way, the point is you can get excellent results using most synths.
