Thanks, guys.

@Teksonik: Yeah, he told me that too. I don't think Purity 64bit will be released any time soon.

They're releasing stuff for Kontakt, and maybe Soundfont, but I'm hoping they release some SFZ format files too. I would love to use their sounds in Dimension Pro.

Just curious, which DSF orchestral instruments do you use? The HD pack?
MS0 it's actually emu

The thing that's a pain is that the sections don't work as that was one of those stream from disk features that can only be done in 98

Oh, for sure. I'm certain you can find something out there. M1's been around for a long~ time, so there is a very good chance.
I'm doing synth based stuff so i'm covered for those types of sounds but sometimes i want a good sampled string or organ, or a flute or guitar for a more downtempo track and i haven't got a dedicated workstation or sampler apart from Maschine, FL has DW but most of the presets are to buy. :?
Oh, I see. Well, I can say this objectively:

The M1's guitars are bad. The acoustic guitar sounds very MIDI-like, and so do the electric guitars. It can make some nice synthy strats and stuff, though.

Purity's acoustic instruments sound very usable, and the global sound quality of its acoustic instruments is a step or two up from the M1.

Dimension Pro probably has the most realistic and full bodied sounds, though. It has flutes taken directly from the Garritan libraries, and they actually sound good. It also has some excellent organs, including a very extensive B3 emulation in the first of three expansions packs that you get for free.

The problem with Dimension Pro is many of the samples are very sloppily edited. To make it usable, you have to go into the MIDI Matrix and link "Sample Offset All" to a MIDI CC. You shouldn't need to do this for the organs, but for the strings and some of the guitars, it is almost required.

Purity sees a lot more use by me as a result of the hassles that come with Dimension Pro, but Dimension Pro's sound is undeniably fantastic.
Thanks. Been a little distracted with the recent maschine 2.0 announcement which has got me thinking about Komplete for the sampled and acoustic instruments or Kontakt and some 3rd party libraries depending on how well mulitimbral plugins are integrated. Came across these a few days ago: https://www.zenhiser.com/deep-house-keys.html

Sound pretty good and the prices seem reasonable. Anyway i don't want to derail your thread! I appreciate all the info, i'll check out these options and look at what i've already got, a workstation seems like the best solution as long as the instruments are inherently good.

Cheers!

Excellent sale on LUXONIX Kontakt Instruments until 31st October! 70% reduction.

Toys In Wonderland

USD 13.90 | EUR 9.90 | GBP 8.50

I bought this a little while ago. It's a no-brainer at this price.

Cajon

USD 13.90 | EUR 9.90 | GBP 8.50

I already have two Cajon Libraries by different companies. Otherwise, I'd probably get it.

Damn, those are good sales.

I want both, but I don't own Kontakt.

Your reply reminded me that I purchased my very first CD about a year or two before I had a CD player, because the CD was such good value. :)

Well, I don't have to buy either of those.

Luxonix is endorsing me thanks to this thread, so I get their stuff for free now. I just don't own Kontakt, so I told Sky Cha to not even worry about it.

Cool! :)

Apparently they're thinking about releasing more melodic products for a while. All for Kontakt I suppose. Suits me.

I'm planning on maybe picking up the SONiKA Vocaloid soon (or some other one) and using Purity for all the backing instruments, including the drums. Might not, though. Have to see over the next few weeks.

It's either a Vocaloid or Miroslav, but I'm really starting to gravitate towards pop more and more.

I really dislike Purity's drums, but they are the only drums that fit the style of music I want to compose in lately.

I'm on a very poor audio monitoring setup. Have you used Purity's drums at all? Would giving them a bass boost be a good idea?

Difficult question to answer. EQ might help. Or you could look at any number of products like Toontrack EZ Drummer and Expansion Packs like:

Toontrack EZX Number 1 Hits
Toontrack EZX POP
Toontrack EZX Electronic

Check out YouTube for promotional Videos.
Check out AudioDeluxe and JRRShop for best Prices.

Oh lord, $179.

This is the part where I spin around and keel over because my wallet has taken its last hit. :hihi:

I'm probably just going to stick with the Emu stuff. It sounds really solid, and Dimension Pro has a lot of neat features.

At AudioDeluxe for example, EZ Drummer is $79.00 using Coupon: FALL2013 (which is automatically applied to your cart, when you have an Account there). The Expansion Packs can be quite cheap too, if you shop around.

That might be doable. Thanks.
