After all the issue is not saving, its what i described in my last 2 posts.
Yeah I can see where you are coming from.
Being locked out of your own computer isn't a cool feeling, an unnecessary restriction especially for users who like the flexibility to store presets to wherever they want and on the fly.

At the very least Spectral should provide access to the root of all hard drives and any usb storage devices that are connected.

@ those you beta-tried it: since I can't try it yet (osx here), what type of music/sounds do you think Spectral is the most suited? Is it realty a bread and butter synth or you see it succeeding more at a particular type? Hopefully, it's going to excel at pads, drones and other atmospheric sounds! :D

I will get flammed here but I wasn't impressed with the sound of this. Will try again though.

If you're new to LinPlug check out their other plug ins as well. Octopus is one of my favorites.

Super mega bonus points though for having a selection of tunings right off the bat and easily selectable. That always cheers me up on sight.
Copy/paste worked fine for me. I like this synth! 8)

I was secretly hoping this would be Albino 4 in disguise but alas it is not......Sounds good though. We'll have to see what the price point is......

I'ts digital and proud of it, I like it, lots of sound design possibilities. I think this will be great for bass sounds :)

Me too :-( ...I can't try it yet since I'm on osx, so it's not aimed at ambient, pad and other drony atmospheric sounds then?

I would say it's purrrffect for drony sounds, it screams for slowly evolving harmonics and moving sounds. The trouble is the CPU hit though in the current beta. Not sure if this will change in the final version. Just IMO of course.

Can't wait to try it! Although like you said, hopefully the performance will be optimized.

Just wanted to ad that it's perfect for drones and ambient soundscapes. I'm finding it has a very rich flexible palette.

It also reminded me of Albino sound for a while, but I think it is natural to feel this way because it must be sharing some codes with Albino although the synthesis method is different!

IMO the nearest synth to it is IL Harmor. I think they can sound similar (more than the comparison with another additive like Razor).

The GUI is very nice and organized. I wished there was the 'invisible' octopus modulator like in Razor, but maybe the visual effects would take some cpu usage which already not low (it depends on the preset to be honest).

I would consider it if I am into Mac OS X only cause I miss IL Harmor there. In case of windows, well, I don't think I need it really.

After all, I think Linplug did an excellent job. Well done :-)

One interesting feature of the filter editor is that you could create e.g. a Lowpass filter with a very steep slew rate of e.g. 90 dB/oct which is not possible with most synths. For that the semitones display (x-axis) and the dB display (y-axis) are very helpful.
There is also a button below the edotor, a bit left from the middle with a symbol that looks like a chain of squares. With that you could "compress" parts of the curve (without having to draw this manually) to get a more steep behavior.
When clicking on that button 3 red lines, 4 red squares and one red circle will appear at the border and 2 corners. With the square at the middle left you could set the left border for the manipulation which means everything left to it will not be changed. With the circle at the top (in the center) you could then "compress" the right part of the curve to get a steeper one by click+hold the circle and drag it down.
If you drag it up you will add an additional broad "peak" to the right. You could also set the right border for the manipulation with the right red rectangle. This way several useful manipulations seem to be possible without having to draw everything by hand. For example when marking a certain region and dragging the red circle up you coud add adiitional "peaks" for axample to create something like a formant filter. Instead of a "peak" you could aslo add a "hole" by rdragging the red circle down instead of up.

Here is a screenshot where i marked the button and the red circle with green color:

The "peaks" and "holes" in this example were created with that editor starting from a Lowpass filter preset (no manual "drawing" involved).
As already mentioned those manipulations are limiteto the range of that blue area which couldm be set with the red squares.

With the filtzer editor it should be possible to create filter responses that correspond to using multiple filters in series. With the "Blend" feature you could blend between two filter responses (the current and another one from the saved ones). after cklicking at the "checkmark" symbol you could then continue blending the current filter response with another filter.

Currently i am also checking the "pattern editor" at the lower left of the editor screen.

Saving the filter shape seems to be possible with clicking at the "wrench"-symbol at the upper right of the filter editor and clicking on "Save Filtershape".

Overal that filter editor seems to be quite powerful and flexible and offers several features for shaping the filter than only the option for drawing it manually.

really lovin this so far, finally got to play with it after having it sit on the pc for a week. Just the arp/plucky type stuff you can get with the arp plus some mod of the sym and a few other things is great to keep it interesting

Anyone know if its just that single page of the mod matrix? Dont see any obvious way to get to other pages, but thats the one thing Im definitely finding limiting. Ill find a preset I like and start messing about and come up with something that would be really cool with some movement only to see no open slots at all to do it

So if there arent more pages definitely would like that as a request

-edit

Just found the manual, apparently thats a big no on that one. So consider this a request for at least another page if not a couple more :)
