Spectral is the result of more than 14 years of synthesizer building experience. Someone being familiar with subtractive synthesis will feel right at home with the Spectral, because one can choose an oscillator waveform, choose a filter shape and go on from there. But Spectral delivers far more options than one would expect from the well sorted user interface. Both Oscillator Waveform and Filter Shape can be edited in depth and created from scratch. This unique audio engine is capable of delivering many sounds never heard before.
Main Features:
This is perhaps one of the most oustanding soft synth i've ever heard ever since Dune 2, Halion 6, Electra2, Harmor, Alchemy, etc. The possibilities are endless and that i'm barely scratching the surface. One of the amazing things I like about this additive/subtractive synth is it has 4 oscillators and 2 waveforms per oscillators. With that being said you can morph between 2 waveforms for final waveshaping purposes. I look at it as a partial wavetable synth but it would be nice if it were to be a true wavetable synth and being able to cycle through the waveforms. This is only a single cycle synth but has so much potential behind it that your not really missing out on anything. Very good and unusual effects to choose from and apart from everything else it even has microtuning files to choose from so anyone can get really creative and get really crazy. The sky's the limit.
Read ReviewNice review, Clifton. Another amazing thing about Spectral is the TON of control routings it has!!! An amazing synth - one of the best things I've got in my arsenal and it gets a lot of use.
Thank you so much indeed. For me I think this is one of the best they ever came out and now it's considered my primary synth. So much you can do and even sets everything apart from other synths I tested. Just absolutely amazing it just totally blew my mind.

+1 for this.
it's baffling to me how this isn't talked about much. like a few of their others. like octopus.. i have morphox somewhere. i may have to dust that off and have another look : ].
I think this is a highly advanced synth within it's self and most people don't realize it. I only had it for just a few days and all the sudden I just went nuts over this machine. I;m just sort of tinkering around this and coming up with cool unusual stuffs I programed;).
Too bad it's no longer supported.

That's pretty sad to hear that Linplug had stopped production. Anyway I just uploaded new patches for anyone who can use them. Maybe very convincing.

Where did you upload them to, Clifton? I'm interested - even if I do have TONS of patches already! :-).
Terry.

(Nevermind - found them in the Downloads section!).
Terry.
Good to hear and hope you'll enjoy them as well as I did;).
I just uploaded and updated to 13 new patches. This should be really worth checking out due to more interesting sounds. The name is called CB HighZone.
Super! Can't wait to dive into these! Thanks! :-).
Terry.
I'm very glad to hear that. Well happy creations and enjoy:-D.
Hoping someone can help me ! .........I bought Linplug MorphX and Spectral many years ago. Been working overseas for years and never got round to installing the proper versions (the demo versions I have still have that hissing sound every 60 seconds). Im getting back into my music now but have just discovered that LinPlug have been liquidated. Still have the serial Nos. Is there anywhere I can still download these ?
These are some of the best plugins for psychedelic sounds and sound design.
I use Spectral, Morphox or Chronox on pretty much every project. They are starting to crash now since Bitwig 3, mostly when trying to access the GUI.
Also if/when OS X makes it impossible to stay on Mojave all the 32-bit plugins will be unusable. I've been thinking about starting a kickstarter to try and revive them again or make 64-bit versions. It surprises me that more isn't discussed about saving these plugins. I think they're up there with classic hardware synths (wouldnt it be amazing to have these 3 in a hardware version (small computer running them as plugins maybe, with purpose-built controller).
They already all come in 64-bit versions. They are still some of the best plugins ever made.
Oh interesting! I didnt realise that. Maybe I didnt update them in time, or there's another reason why they are crashing.
Chronox recently won't open the GUI in Bitwig without crashing the plugin.
Hey, first time posting I know this is an old thread but worth a shot. Does anyone know where I could get the 64-bit version of this? I have a 32-bit version on my laptop but my Mac doesn't support 32s anymore and this synth was in a ton of different projects. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
hello DavidMerrick i own the latest 64-bit version of spectral /w 70 soundbanks that i can share with you to get your projects back on track. please pm me at your convenience.
Hey! It won't let me PM you for some reason. The contact button doesn't activate anything.
hello DavidMerrick - yes i believe we have to post over two comments in order to PM individuals. hopefully these replies count within that quota.
i added you into a Friends List we should be able to correspond now?
....still unable to PM..... as such i setup a throwaway email you can contact me at: infokvrforum (at) gmail (dot) com. talk soon.
HI.
I have had to reinstall and so I've lost a load of presets. esp. BIgtone.
Does anyone know where they might be found?
I see it's no longer supported by Linplug : (.
inkwarp - i have the arksun bigtone set for spectral, in addition to other quality sets (ian boddy, in-visible ... etc); as was the case with another user, we cannot PM each other so please contact me at: infokvrforum (at) gmail (dot) com.
inkwarp - actually i found i can share the soundbanks directly here on kvr. please find the set under 'Downloads' above.
