Sorry,my mistake.
On checking, for ACE, the initial install on a clean Windows x64 system, the x86 VST2 plugin seems to default to
C:\Program Files (x86)\VstPlugins
and there's no default for the x64 VST2 version.
It looks like second-or-subsequent installers remember where the previous u-he installation went to.
VST3 is a different kettle of fish, for all plugins, btw. That location seems to be intended to be static, and not ever customised b the user.
