why do installers still use STEINBERG folder as default? BS!!!!

Hmmm ,good point.It is possible that I had already installed Uhe previously and the installer knew where to look.

On checking, for ACE, the initial install on a clean Windows x64 system, the x86 VST2 plugin seems to default to

C:\Program Files (x86)\VstPlugins

and there's no default for the x64 VST2 version.

It looks like second-or-subsequent installers remember where the previous u-he installation went to.

VST3 is a different kettle of fish, for all plugins, btw. That location seems to be intended to be static, and not ever customised b the user.

Because Steinberg is the developer of the VST standard, some companies thinking it's also the root folder for installed plug-ins

preposterous, all these programs just ignorantly assume I want to install all my software onto my C drive.

what's worse is that they assume i want the WINDOWS version installed on my pc!

worse still, they just assume that since my operating system is in english language, i want all the dialogs to be in english as well! i'm bilingual, damn it!

oh, the nerve!
