I loved his cynical take on the world. Both Wild Side and, Sweet Jane were part of my repetoire for years, when I was doing the blues/rock circuit.

Was always fairly ambiguous about Reed, but you cant deny his influence on the shape of modern music, particularly as part of VU.

very beautiful and a very fitting end in many respects - peaceful and meditative music. Perhaps he finally found himself in a much better place in his later years?

Quite possibly. I only heard this record for the first time a few months ago, lovely stuff for sure.

Wow! Just saw this..... Really sad to hear this! I got into VU by way of the Cowboy Junkies' remake of Sweet Jane. I then burrowed into the back catalog and found gem after gem. Great stuff! I really will always be moved when I hear the things "Stephanie Says"! May Lou rest in peace and his family and loved ones find comfort!
