Is the GVST plugin GLow a 12 or, better yet, 24 dB/octave filter?

Simple question: I know GVST's GLow plugin has resonance, but, more importantly, I need to know if the filter is 12/24 dB/octave?

I need to know this because I make sample-based hip-hop which often requires (heavy) filtering (read: at least 12 dB/octave with res.)!

Thanks in advance for any useful/educational/precise/etc. answers.

...

PS: I couldn't find the info on the official GVST webpage.

Precise answer: just checked it with VST Analyser and it is a textbook 12dB/octave lowpass.

Thanks a lot for your precise answer :-)

GLow will do just fine then. However, I'm still wondering if there aren't any similar, simple filter EQ's but which are 24 dB/octave... Can your analyzer reveal if the PC version of Prosoniq's NorthPole (discontinued ages ago, but still downloadable) is 24 dB/octave????

North Pole. That one takes me back. It looks like an 18 dB/octave number.

PRO TIP: paste this into your web browser:

And have a dig round. There's a ton of good, free stuff there. You can download VST plugin analyser for yourself (if you're interested). There is a range of filters to try out too-useful for mixing purposes if that is what you are looking for.

If you want a freebie filter for sexy resonant sweeps and the like check out Admiral Quality Naive LPF. It has some nice grit and rawness to the sound which should fit the hip hop sonic aesthetic.

The bkFixedFilter and bkModfilter both sound great, simple yet enough options to be useful. Developed by the dev behind Charlatan and you know (or should know :)) how good the filter on that can be.

I loved good old Rubberfilter by C.Budde, but recently I'm only using MBandpass by Melda Production. Also free, more up to date, and you can mess with the filter knee (Q factor) as well.
