They install automatically when you install the WDM drivers. If the card was OEM, ASIO should be there. You don't see ASIO in device manager, but you would see in software. For example, if you were running Sonar, go to Options/Audio/Advanced/Playback and Recording (3.1.1) and you should be able to select ASIO.

I used an Audigy 2 with Creative drivers for years and was quite happy with the quality and latency. Admittedly it's not pro stuff but it's certainly not bad either.

I just installed the kX driver into my Audigy 2ZS,,, and only a couple of issues to resolve...
I have to mute/unmute to make it work sometimes and
I have lost the volume control from my external box,,,
apart from that I am setting my card to lower latencies that I would normally,, so far so good.

I don't know why people are against Creative drivers?
I have an Audigy1 (+ external box) with Creative ASIO drivers that give me a latency of 5 msec. (Windows XP - Athlon 2400+), that's more than enough to play synths in real-time!
I mostly do vocal recording through it (Spirit mixer as preamp) and the results sound fine to me!
Only thing that's annoying me, is the fixed 48 Khz frequency.
...And I can play games too.
Peter.

the problem is people wont understand it unless they run into serious problems with it or until they get a better card and see the diference.pschelfh wrote:I don't know why people are against Creative drivers?

i dont get any problems with my audigy using Reason, but once I switched to Cubase i've got nothing but problems.
i guess it depends on your particular system and OS setup, but anyhow, an Audigy is not the best way to go in a DAW.

Could be true. I use it with SX2 and FL Studio without problems, but my PC is configured for audio only. The only thing I use from Microsoft is Windows XP. I even managed to remove Internet Explorer.beanyles wrote:i guess it depends on your particular system and OS setup
It's a lean mean audio machine now!
