AFAIK there's no financial disadvantage at all in getting Z2 now, then upgrading to Z3 when it arrives (BTW owners of Z2 + The Dark Zebra will get Z3 for free).

As of current pricing model, the disadvantage is actually waiting for Z2. See first post of this thread.

However, if Z3 is the goal, I'd recommend to wait for it to shape up.

Will ZebraHZ stay the same, meaning a Z2 synth, when Z3 comes out, or will it become a Zebra 3 with the additional Diva filters? Or maybe a better question would be, will Zebra, Zebralette and Dark Zebra always be variants off the same engine?

Our current plan is to keep ZebraHZ on sale as is, with its own serial number. That way we'll always still have a product on sale that loads Zebra2 presets, and it could act as an entry level drug to Zebra3.

Nevertheless the final word will be spoken once we have Zebra3 in a shape worth discussing.

Well, maybe to differentiate Zebra3 from the "Zebra" family, they would could it Zebra3(code name: "Narcaught-X")

I just bought Zebra2 and there are, like, 9000 free patches to play with and tweak (plus 240 from David-F

)... so I'll happily "stick with the stock" (©)
(but who am I kidding... I'll probably buy ZΞ within 5 minutes after it's released)

For the next iterations of DIVA (which is waiting for me, next month I hope)... instead of calling it DIVB... or DIVC or DIVD... I have a brilliant name :
"DivX" !
