Diva with midi controllers - trouble - please help

Hi
Got two controllers, Korg Legacy MS 20 and M-Audio Axiom. With both I have the same problem:
- assigning knobs on controller, via MIDI Learn on Diva, does work but often the same knob controls two parameters
on Diva, which of course I don't want.
Please enlighten me, where is the problem. No, the two knobs (at least not from what I see) should not share same CC.
I doubt I am the only one with this "problem", but I think it should be easy to solve.
Thanks a lot for your reply!

You can assign a controller to multiple parameters, or multiple controllers to one parameter.
If a parameter has unwanted assignments, just right-click and "MIDI Unlearn"
However, some parameters *are* teh same, such as Triple Osc Shape1 and DCO Pulsewidth. That is deliberately so because otheriwse it would be difficult to create a controler that changes its semantics when the mode is switched.
If worse comes to worst, please send us your com.u-he.Diva.midiassign.txt
Cheers,
- Urs

Thank you for your reply.
This happens, to be more precise, for example at ENVELOPES.
OK I assign 4 faders on controller via midi learn (ADSR) for ENV 1, then I want to continue on next 4 faders to assign
ENV 2.
But suddenly fader for ATT, for example, on ENV 1 also controls ATT on ENV 2... although different fader was assigned there.
Midi Unlearn won't help.
Also happened around Cuttof/Res on filter... similar
Really confused, wanna make this work.

Just talk to my friend and yeah happens now and the to him too. I don't think this is special.
Try to assign a controller to Diva and you will notice doubling the function of some knobs on controller, such as envelopes too...
Anyone?

I tried and actually got a double assignment, or rather a former assignment combined with the new one (absolutely certain since it was a 'fine' assignment) - DIVA remembers MIDI assignments. Any chance that's happening here?bourbon wrote:Just talk to my friend and yeah happens now and the to him too. I don't think this is special.

yup. something like double assignment. I just want my 8 faders on keyboard to control 2 ADSR envelopes withou doubling and so on...
...any idea? This should be REALLY simple. Very reasonable request to have that...
Thanks

If this is what's happening you'd want to midi-unlearn the stuff in DIVA that's doubled up, or optionally clear out all entries in the com.u-he.Diva.midiassign.txt, or for the very brave just hand-edit that file.

Not sure on PC
Of course e-mailing support might be better, but I'm trying here

Hmmm...
I wonder if it matters what midi channel you're on?
I know zebra is set to receive mod info on midi channel 1... perhaps that's a thing to look at?

sorry if I cannot be of any help. I need parameter feedback, and therefore use the DAW's internal mapping system to control Diva and all my other synths. There are other reasons also, so what I can recommend is to bypass the plugin MIDI mapping. To my knowledge, only Cubase is capable to provide a good internal mapping system. Maybe Reaper is even better because it provides OSC control, but I haven't found yet a method to make it work without problems. But there are surely other DAW's that can do that. Mostly the problem is with parameter feedback, that is lacking in many DAW's still today.
I also want to thank you that you made the modules assignable with MIDI CC's. This makes a Lemur controller very realistic, meaning when a preset is changed in Diva (with different modules than the last preset), Lemur adapts its visual appearance according to the Diva GUI. There is no other synth that does that. Not only the sound quality is unique, it's also the MIDI map.
this is very well done by the way. I can switch between modules and have the same parameter values. Without this, it would be extremely hard to control Diva.Urs wrote:However, some parameters *are* teh same, such as Triple Osc Shape1 and DCO Pulsewidth. I got Diva on Mac and running in Logic 9.
I don't understand all that was told here. I just want to find a way to map Diva.
I tried with MIDI Unlearn, kinda resetting, but it just isn't the case.
Not being able to assign 2 ENV on 8 faders is very disappointing for me.
Does anyone have any solutions to this. I doubt no-on uses controllers this way...
