Oh I'm out if this is the case :(

If this is indeed the case, I'm out as well I guess

But let's wait for confirmation or (hopefully) some info to the contrary.

Also a synth i wasn't aware of.
Will try and see if i come up with something worth showing :)

I can use automation just fine in Renoise but if it definitly does not work at all in some DAWs, let me know which and I can have a look.

It doesn't seem to work in Reaper. Just to make sure; I'm trying to MIDI-learn the controls so I can control them from my midi-keyboard. I can see all the controls in the dropdown in Reaper, but mapping a MIDI-controller (CC-number) to them doesn't seem to work.

EDIT: if there is a fixed CC-controller mapping then that will work as well, but then we need to have a list with the controller mappings.

I'll look into it tonight. Maybe this is easily fixable.

That would be great. It's a really inspirational synth from my first experience with it ;)

Okay got it. I can implement that but to me it seems the quickest way would be a fixed list for now. I suppose that should be done within the next hours. A learn function would be real handy but if I understood it right, I have to do that completely on my end (User selects a parameter in Tunefish, then tweaks knob and I will look for the MIDI event that comes in and there I have my mapping)

Post

For me it looks as if the VST parameters were properly exposed, at least in Reaper. Shouldn't it be sufficient to learn the assignment in the DAW?

Post

okay, I think I need to install Reaper and check for myself how it works :)

Fixed CC-mapping would be enough. I'm using several midi-mappers to get synths hooked up (did that with CM-101 in the last OSC, as it also has fixed mappings).

However, it seems that the VST-parameters are indeed exposed correctly to the DAW (as HiEnergy mentions). Only after mapping they don't react to the mapped CC-signal. Looking for yourself might be the quickest way to figure it out. But if you want me to test things or look at certain things just let me know. I hacked together my own special midi-mapper for my keyboard (it has some strange fixed CC messages on some controls) so I have some 'additional' midi-monitoring running anyway ;)

Just to keep you from looking where to find anything in Reaper:

- left-mousebutton in the track area, choose 'add new virtual instrument on track' (this will setup all the correct switches for receiving midi and monitoring the output of the synth).

- in the synth GUI window, click the 'param' button (top right) for the parameter list and learn functions.

Okay, I implented a fixed mapping, please check and see if this does anything for you. Lowpass cutoff is on 39 for example.

I'll play a bit with reaper myself and see if I can figure it out, too :)

Hi, has anyone tried TunefishV3RC with Cubase before?

I have: WinXP32, Cubase Essential 5

Most of the presets are just a very short and noisy pluck, even the strings. When I try to modify the ADSR I got no usefull times for attack and release. The release allways sounds like cut or gated.
And SAVIhost allways crashes when I try to open Tunefish.

Similar experiences?
