Kiddy forum behaviour aside...
I never said FL is the best, but then again being "top dog" doesn't necessarily means "the best".
Not all DAWs cater to the same type of user. Some DAWs are all purpose, others work better for certain jobs. Ok, it's not Pro Tools - but it doesn't need to be. It has a lightning fast workflow and it's very easy to learn - and that is more than enough for a lot of folks to like & use it. Take a look around KVR and see how frequent FL is used as DAW
I really don't understand why some ppl feel the urge to bash any software they're not using...so what if most members/readers of a website/forum/magazine/etc have chosen FL as their fav DAW?

The irony is that as worthless as these best daw polls are in general, FL being at #1 there 2 years running is (highly likely imo, demographically to that audience) probably quite accurate.
Nice product, great licensing terms, and of course it's arguably the most ... erhm... "demoed" .... daw ever.
But hey, it's all in fun.
I voted for the U.S. as being the best country of 2013 although I've never actually been to France or Scotland.
But hey, it's all in fun.

I think Oldfield has moved away from FL these days. Although he did use it for a bit a few years ago.
He certainly didn't use it for all his good albums (or any other DAW for that matter!). Unless you like his 80's stuff, and count the Fairlight as a proto DAW.
But there's plenty of folks who do. And most of them probably use other stuff too.
I think people who do use it tend to get uppity when it's getting bashed because it gets bashed so often.
