Seems like IL is goin to work on the GUI for the next FL version,looks just like a new skin though.

Okay, this has been my personal contention with having FL classified as a "Digital Audio Workstation". It's a Sequencer first and foremost.

Even their low tier Fruity version doesn't even come with any audio recording capabilities. The term "DAW" has to to be stretched and totally redefined for FL studio to be included.

Indeed, that's correct - the €73.42 entry level "Fruity Edition" doesn't seem to include any audio recording features. You'll have to start on the "Producer Edition" to get 'Recording External and Internal Audio using ASIO-in' features.

Remember to look at this from different angles. For instance: You have this company that starts out with a simple and streamlined product. You build up a user base and of course you would like to please them all; Your survival depends upon them. Now eventually the users get more and more demanding. Some users want feature a,b and c. Others want d,e and f and yet others want g,h and i but in very different ways (e.g. three different ways of doing sidechain) . You work like a horse to implement it all and consequently you end up with a clusterfuck very remote from the idea that motivated you to build it in the first place. However the worst part is that when you finally succeed to get every wished for feature into the program, the users or potential users now complain about it's complexity. In this light it is actually a wonder that we haven't heard of instances where a developer goes insane and tries to strangle a user or two. Kudos to Image Line for being so bloody patient and just keep working to keep up with the never ending stream of contradicting user demands.

FL keeps on changing, but these threads stay the same.

FL is like a religion.
And all you blaspheming non-believers are now being punished for your lack of faith in the early years.

Now that its awesome, you heathens and converts not meant to understand it.
And if you do, youll be martyred as a fanboi.

"People" will always denounce, doubt, and outright laugh, at FL.
This long in, with it matching any feature out there, and winning top honors all over, and still getting the rolleyes, I think its a done deal.
No matter the music, the user, the feature being discussed, it does not matter.
People of varying levels of skill, knowledge, experience, exposure, can easily stumble into an 'lol' impression of FL.
It works out for everyone, really.

Well of course you are making little to no sense with this sentiment, remember to look at this from the angle of "Free lifetime updates" which actually means that your survival is not dependent on previous customers what so ever, it is in fact dependent on new sales, so either
1 They just added those features because they wanted them themselves
2 New users would not buy the app unless it has those features
