Tunefish2 and 3 are different synths. They are generally not compatible. So if you prefer v2 then stay with it. The v3 updates I post here are only for people who use the v3 and will never change compatibility or sound of the synth. They're just for fixing usability bugs.abovethoughts wrote:1. will my presets for 2.0 work in the new 3.0 beta2 ?
2. Why the rule that we have to choose version 2.0 or 3.0 but not both?
I came up against trouble with 3.0 and 3.0 beta 1 so I fell back to 2.0 and made some lovely audio segments, but would prefer the newest version, if possible.
If I choose to go with 3.0 beta2, it seems not fair to not be able to use those sequences from v2?
EDIT: while I am at it, before more confusion comes up:
Tunefish v3 is a complete rewrite of v2 which generally uses the same synthesis but was cleaned up (UI is a mayor improvement for example) but also lots of code was cleaned and fine tuned to produce nicer sound and the fixed oscillators were all replaced by a single configurable spline oscillator.
So in short: while they're very similar, enough has changed to make them completely incompatible.
