so continuing the discussion about forthcoming styles, here are some "vintage" ones, and I'd like to hear some opinions

Well, I don't like this at all. You put it very well - it's partly 3D partly 2D, so it just looks amateuristic to me. And there are soooo many controls. You really like that??? I thought this would be the opposite of what you'd like really.Tricky-Loops wrote:Another good example how 3D and 2D elements can be combined and how vintage and digital can be mixed (it's not the best GUI out there but it's quite good):
It doesn't look like the real hardware (Nord Lead) at all but it has some slight shadows and reflections...
I suggested this 3D and 3D mixture because you said in the other thread you could not change everything as the code is creating the GUI, and you could not use photoshop backgrounds and elements.MeldaProduction wrote:Well, I don't like this at all. Anyway it's unusable here I'm afraid - it doesn't show units. We will always show units, I hate every plugin showing the units in some bottom bar etc... And it's already ultracrowded.
That's what I thought but I guess some textures as background wouldn't be a problem as it could be resized (a static image isn't possible, of course).MeldaProduction wrote:Not exactly, stuff can be made in photoshop or whatever software, but only individual components, because as you know each plugin is different, yet they are made of the same styles, so the plugins actually render the final graphics. Add to it that it can be resized etc. and you have a huge coctail of technical requirements and of course limitations. E.g. I cannot just draw a window in Photoshop and use it as the GUI, after all, how could you resize it then? This doesn't mean it cannot be 3D, after all the images I posted on facebook are real screenshots.
I guess you mean sensitive rather than sensible hereTricky-Loops wrote:My sensible eyes are voting for #2...
I still would like to have some slight, unobtrusive textures but at least the 3D knobs look much better now...
