Thesys looks more like it's for fancy pants MIDI automation. In typical Sugar Bytes fashion the gui is bafflingly complex. I don't see how it can do drum patterns any easier or faster than the Reaper sequencer in question.

This new Reaper sequencer does the job and is exceedingly simple. No need for frills and shit on the GUI IMHO, not this time.

Yes, I still use Sonic Bytes ERA, nothing like itwoggle wrote:given some people find this underwhelming, and I don't really know much about what is on the market, I was wondering what other step sequencers allowed for multiple instances with different lengths and rates? Guru used to have ratios between instances, but not a continuous rate setting. And also one of the sugar bytes people had a fantastic step sequencer a few years back that had simple ratios. Any others?

Should I send you a stylish photo from me?chk071 wrote:Well Reaper users care less for looks but more for functionality and usability, that's my impression.
Doesn't my avatar image show that the look of today is important for me?

Thesys is not suitable for drums at all because it is "monophonic", so to speak.Arglebargle wrote:Thesys looks more like it's for fancy pants MIDI automation. But it is brilliant for other tasks.

Let me correct it then into "the looks of their DAW".Tricky-Loops wrote:Should I send you a stylish photo from me?chk071 wrote:Well Reaper users care less for looks but more for functionality and usability, that's my impression.

mmm ugly as hell but look functional. I like the reaper concept but I cant get over the GUI - I must be shallow but I like a nice vibe. Ill stick to Nerve in Logic-Nerve sequencer is the best Ive used-so quick and creative.

CrimsonWarlock aka TechnoGremlin, Moved to Reason and Rack Extensions exclusively (from Reaper and VSTs) several years ago.

There are a few Reaper elements that can't be skinned at all, but different themes can make it look completely different. I've been using RADO VOX for most of my tenure with Reaper, makes it feel like a completely different DAW.analoguesamples909 wrote:mmm ugly as hell but look functional.
