Zebra2 VSTs crash Studio One 2.5.... Part 2

Hello Rob and Urs!

The history: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=393786 My last email with Rob indicated he had caused Zebra2 to crash in Studio One v2 and that you folks were busy investigating the cause.

I apparently continue to have email problems with my provider blocking you. I emailed Rob a week ago regarding any news on whether the cause of the crash Rob and I experienced has been discovered. I haven't received a reply, so I assume email problems again.

Would you be so kind as to provide me an update here as to whether the cause has been discovered, and comment on whether an eventual fix can be expected such that I can at least use VST2 successfully if not VST3?

Hi Michael,

I can not reproduce the crash with our recent VST2 and VST3 builds in Studio One.
Adding or removing Zebra2 VST2/VST3 to/from an instrument track does not crash Studio One here.

EDIT: ...and very sorry for the communication problems. We don't know why, but some U.S. eMail providers reject and/or filter messages from our eMail server.

Sorry it is such a difficulty communicating. ATT/Yahoo can be aggravating at times.

Sadly, the crashes repeat exactly the same with the "fixed" beta revision I tried.

Unfortunately, I seemingly have one of those "unique to your computer/software" problems, which means a fix is unlikely.

So, my gorilla fix is to remove all the VST2 and VST3 instances from the Plugins folder so I don't have a constant reminder of a glitch in my Instrument menu in Studio One.

My lesson learned through all this is to give demos a much more thorough trial before spending any money. Live and learn...

I agree, not hopeless but beyond my meager knowledge and I would prefer to throw in the towel than be a big PITA.

To answer your questions:

No, never got to the Combo. Downloaded, but got sidetracked by health issues. Ended up installing V 2.6.1 of Studio Pro and then installing OSx 10.9 last week.
Repaired permissions today (again) after newest Zebra install.
Straight 64 bit.

Zebra works fine as an AU, at least insofar as I have used it as an instrument familiarizing (read:noodling) with presets.
VSTs work fine to the point one tries to Remove the instrument from the instruments window, at which time it will crash SP. Sometimes, one can remove it successfully from the Console view. That said, if it crashes once from the instrument window, it will subsequently crash from the Console removal until one reboots.

Appreciate your help and willing to try your suggestions, but if it doesn't get solved I'm willing to live with just the AUs.
