K look. I'll explain it very simply. If you resell a u-he license right now, you get top dollar for it. If a loyalty program develops, it will affect license resales due to the mere fact that resellers would have to lower their price in order to attract a buyer from directly buying it from u-he. This will directly cause the overall value to drop. If someone buys zebra at a 30% discount on top of the dinosaur cross grade, etc, they will have to sell it for cheaper than that in order to actually move it. The prices drop for everyone, including u-he. As you can see, as a reseller of plugins, I don't like this scenario. Will it actually increase sales for u-he? Possibly, but that's not what they're actually looking for. They're not looking to move the most licenses. They're interested in making the best products available and keeping their customers happy, which they're already doing. It's obvious this is their main concern, as they haven't diverged from this since day one. A majority of their customers are already happy, so this is a non-existent problem.ChiTown24 wrote:Sure it does. you have the opinion that someone who buys a 2nd-hand license should be a 2nd-class licensee with respect any customer loyalty programs offered. That is at the very least ironic considering your selling habits. Naturally your desires & your opinions co-exist. Not arguing against that. Just observing the irony. Life is full of ironies.
One could go a step further, maybe, and argue hypocrisy. If one were so inclined and were bothered enough. I'd rather swat flies.
Regarding what constitutes a good price with regard to a loyalty program is never going to be neatly defined and agreed upon by a majority of people, anyway. For some people it may seem to expensive still, which will only give them something else to complain about. It seems too complex to be worth implementing as it's not their main goal, anyway. That's why they're asking for suggestions to begin with. Not even THEY'RE sure about it, and I'm positive they have studied it much more than either of us.
