LEVEL 3-E is a collection of 90 classic chiptune patches inspired by two popular game consoles from the late 70s and mid 80s. From arps, basses and leads to percussion and nostalgic sound effects, the pack contains everything you need to craft a fairly authentic sounding chiptune track.

All sounds made in Zebra 2.6, no extra processing except a bit reduction plugin + limiter on the master bus.

added: thanks to Brian (bmrzycki), Sendy and Dennis (BrontoScorpio) for valuable feedback which helped shape the collection.

BrontoScorpio made a cool, fun audio demo using only sounds from the set, :)
many thanks Dennis!

old info:
Work almost done on my Zebra chiptune patch bank, which will be released very soon! :)

The bank will have 90 patches (all of them will have ModWhl and a pair of XY control assignments)
arp/seq, bass, lead, percussion and lots of nostalgic SFX patches, lots of fun! :D

Also included are the 32 TIA pitches template + the main template which has the waves and quantification modeled fairly accurate...

Exclusively NES and Atari 2600 inspired :!:

Hey Brian, thanks for the feedback, doing the release cover atm.. :)

All lead and bass sounds have modules just waiting to be activated into a layer now + made some more classic SFX like Mario's mushroom bigup and Goomba splat. :D

Also, made some more percs including those missing hat sounds too. :)

I muted the TV to listen to the demo. I love it. I could feel my wife's shoulders' tense up. That means it's perfect. I can't wait to play around with this!

Great work.

Well, what did you do with the rest of Zebra?

Surely this fit into a tiny corner of Zebra's architecture… but I like the fact that this amazing chameleon-like synth we've chosen can do THIS TOO!

What elements did you use for the OSC?
Retired, Bored and ready to WRECK the JOINT... gonna drop some OLD-STEP, ya'll!!

Yeah, Zebra can do pretty much anything! :)

Simple osc settings really (no oscfx in general), work was directed more on wave emulation. Waves are in GeoMorph mode.
Another key feature would be kb tracked VCFs in SR Decimate mode as well as the quantized envelopes.

Thank you for the free patches. I couldn't resist adding some effects to some of them (yes, making them less retro).

Ya'know, I did the same thing last night out of simple curiosity, had a blast with Valhalla Ubermod, u-he Uhbik-G and S, Tal Chorus LX and Plogue's Chipcrusher to name a few.

Guys, thanks for the feedback, really happy to see that you're enjoying the patches! :)
