i love DIVA. i am in love with it.

anyway, I have what may be my release mix of a song called "the ocean." the moral of the story is not to plot against everyone riding the same boat as you.

scene one:
a vessel in the dark ocean

scene two:
those who would plot

scene three:
xenophobia: ingroup vs outgroup

scene four:
the ocean swallows all

DIVA does all the heavy lifting in this track.

any feedback, good or bad, would be awesome!

I like it. Interesting concept of breaking your song into very distinct acts. Really good work with lots of emotion and drama.

Wicked! Loved the dark bass and edgy lead lines. Nice dynamic range to the track culminating in an awesome dramatic crescendo.

Nice track. I thought the drums were heavily compressed though, I'd like to hear a mix where they have more dynamics. Diva, of course, is great.

Parts of this remind me of NIN (a compliment). What did you use for drums (sounds cool)? What percentage of the drum programming was by you? Was Diva doing the stutter/bell sounds at around 0:50? Not sure if that is one synth or more. Nice stuff.

For the drums, I have one set of drums racks in live with just a kick and snare that i look from a loop somewhere. i also have an instance of ni's studio drummer pro. i did all the drums programming.

The bell sound you hear is a balinese gamelan instrument.

Even though I have Synth Squad, Lush-101, Synthmaster, and others, at least 80% of my sounds come from Diva. It really is a beast!
