Reseting MIDI CCs possible?

Hi,

i've got a short question. Is it possible to reset the controls (filter cutoff / resonace and so on) in sylenth1, so that the chosen parameter doesn't recieve any midi ccs?

Here's the background of my question:

I'm programming a generic controller in cubase to have control over every single parameter within sylenth1 via external midi controller. But as written at the end of the manual some controls are receiving midi ccs by default and here comes the problem. The external midi controller sends for example cc76 to control the filter cutoff of filter a on channel 1 and by switching to channel 2 it should control the filter cutoff of filter b. Thats what i planned in order to have the same knob controlling the two filters and choosing them by just switching the midi channel on my external midi controller device. Unfortunately in this case cc76 is also assigned by default to control the attack of the amplitude envelope and so every time i use the knob that sends cc76, filter cutoff and the attack of the amp envelope both are moved.

I then tried to use midi learn to assign my programmed cc to the enveleope attack. The problem here is (as written above in the case of the filter cutoff) that i wanted to use the same control to steer both parameters of section a and b by only using different midi channels. That works fine with cubases generic control as long as the synth does not recieve midi ccs as well. Right now every time i use the knob that controls the attack of amp env a or b, both parameters are moved together as expected.

I hope someone understands what the problem is and could give me a hint how to handle this. I think a reset option for the controls would be the simplest solution.

i dont have cubase but in general its not a good idea to separate different controls by midi channels for the same vst. its better to separate midi channels to access different vstis.

my suggestions:
- if u cannot change sylenths default cc settings, u have to respect them
- to get more controls than u physically have I would try the following:
get a midi fx vst that lets you transpose or remap CC's (remap: midi16CCRouter by insert piz here; transpose: i've got a script for usine, surely there are vst's around..). then reserve a control on your controller to access that midi plugin, and voila, you can have up to 128 controls for sylenth which should do the job?

Ok I'm a little bit late but thanks for your answer. As a start i solved the problem in Cubase. The programs you suggested seem to be interesting so i will test them later for sure.

Hi, I am reviving this old thread, as I am facing the exact same problem. I have Cubase, I want to use Quick Controls to control some parameters of my choice from an external MIDI controllers. But unfortunately, Sylenth1 is responding on another knob because of his Default MIDI Controls! So how can I disable it?

Exemple:
The Fader 1 of my exterbal MIDI controller is assigned to Quick Control 1 in Cubase, which I decided to control Filter Cutoff with.

But the problem is that fader 1 on my MIDI controller is sending CC74 by default, which is the default CC Control for Filter resonance on Sylenth, due to his Default MIDI Control assignment. So now Sylenth is responding on the Filter Cutoff AND Filter resonance!

So how could I overcome that? Is there a way to disable it completely on Sylenth?
