If you install Live 9.1 take another look at your ASIO or Core Audio settings. If you have it set to something like 320 samples Live will run this at 256 instead which Ableton says is more optimised.
I've reset ASIO4all from 320 Samples to 256 and Buffer Offset from 2ms to 4ms. My older setting was not working well anymore but with new settings its fine.

Their installer again takes almost as long just to install Live as it took me to upgrade windows. It seemed to have been adressed in prior versions but this is back to the old snail's pace. What in the world is it doing? It's a measly 700MB.

I saw that on their release notes, made me not want to update honestly. Have you noticed any other issues with ASIO?Kaboom75 wrote:If you install Live 9.1 take another look at your ASIO or Core Audio settings. All it takes is testing a new setting to find the best one gain. No problems with it.

Slow for me as well. And still can't turn off indexing.

Anyone else experiencing 10 to 20 minutes to start? Once started I'm not seeing any problems but man....go for a sandwich, go for a drink, go to the bathroom....Oh, still not started....
I'm wondering if this is due to indexing services.
Anyone has some ideas?
Thanks!
Happy Musiking!

Nine times out of ten it's probably due to indexing. I do have a huge sound and MIDI library folder. I just kill the Ableton Index process and that would speed it up. It'll probably corrupt the DB file, but oh well.

Almost instant start for me and I have almost 2 hard drives full of sample content and loops (PC i7)dentnile wrote:It is stable but for me 9.1 is very slow. The 9.0.6 beta is not slow so I keep using that.
I have never had an issue since the first indexing and find it very helpful (I also have Push) so I guess it must be a platform or configuration specific problem.
I'm a happy Live user
