Its the most stable so far for me personally, Although it does take quite a while for the splash screen to appear. Like hibidy and others I still have the last/final version of 8 installed for when I need Live open fast.
That said again its much better than 9.02 which wouldn't close/shutdown without me having to kill it via the task manager, 9.05 no comment  and 9.06 was hit and miss on close/shutdown. So yeah it could/should be a lot quicker but I feel like Bill Murray's key to "success" via that amazing book he is treated to by Richard Dreyfuss in 'What About Bob'
ImageAbleton Live 9 v9.1 ;)
Best to all as always

fast.. smooth and ultra-stable for me so far

Some projects take a while to load (not sure why) the first time. Live itself mostly starts up pretty fast. This has not always been the case. The early betas of 9 were brutal and I think it was around .05 that it got really fast.

BTW, I do seem to be getting some performance improvement, but it's too early to tell for sure. (I know some people have commented on better CPU use)

I had to do a hack to get v8 to work on my system, but it's going on.

I really like v8.

V9 is better but, you know, fun fun fun... And leaner on resources.

Dean my good man, you got mail. Good to see you back from the underground.

A quick question, does Ableton renew the trial with each update?

Yesterday finally played with Live 9.1 and discovered nice fix. Finally crashes caused by soudn card drivers do not stop application from closing properly. It can be just launched again with no issues, previously it usually eneded up with BSOD.

I think this is the most stable (and by far the best) version of live I have used (I got in at five). In fact, I think it is the most stable DAW I have used.

this looks incredible... looks like it integrates better than a Push!
it could finally sway me into becoming an Ableton convert.

I wonder if its possible to work entirely 'mouse free'
anyone tried it yet?

Just tried the 9.1 Demo version , quite nice i have to say.

So why are lots of people saying, Live is very good for electronic music and sound design?

Because it is. But in the same way as other software is. It depend on individual. You may prefer it (and use it for everything you like) or you may not (and switch to something else)..

Trouble is when people switch and find good product (for them) they religiously defend it and claim that it's the only one...

Really weird :?

It's good for audio too BTW. The complex algo for audio is good for time stretching and pitchshifting. The only bitch about live for audio is there is not proper editor. I haven't tried an external yet.
