It being?

Well, there are only three of the software titles I don't have at this point for Kontakt and only one is on sale.

Maschine Hardware could've got me to buy something I really don't need so I guess that's a good thing. Music store sales look pretty worthless as far as anything that really interests me.

I guess I should be relieved they didn't overwhelm me with 'no-brainers' to good to pass up regardless of want or need.

But yeah, I probably would've bought the other two titles with a considerable discount without question.

Just out of curiousity ED, what is your opinion on the Heavyocity Aeon Collection? Since there is a 50% off deal there, I'm probably going for it.

Kinetic Metal & Action Strikes.

For fifty bucks though, I might succumb to the SAS and get the 50's drummer.

so you seem to be a much bigger Kontakt fan then we all thought here lately?
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

I have a lot of hope invested in Kontakt, but with little fruition, which I have been quite honest about all along. (K9U is even in my signature).
Unfortunately, most of their libraries have been nothing but disappointing to me (I upgraded mainly for a couple of the Reaktor Ensembles I wanted and Battery that surprised me.) For the price, it was worth buying the strings in hopes they would be better than the demos. (They aren't). Komplete pricing makes you end up buying everything at a better deal than just getting the couple of things you want though.

How can you not like Kontakt?

It's the third party libraries that rock. Hopefully this Komplete sale, will lead to lots of more Kontakt users, meaning a bigger market for third party library makers, leading to more libraries at lower prices :)

I'm interested in the K9 upgrade, but I just don't understand why NI need to ship the box to me?? :x

Save environment and save shipping cost, offer a download!

Order from JRRShop. They'll do email delivery of your serial, then you can call NI and register the serial to your account, where you can then download it. :)

EDIT: Sorry, that's only for the full Komplete 9. They don't have the updates or crossgrades. :(

For those with K9U, is it worth the upgrade from K9 Standard?

And wasn't there a thread recently about K9/K9U upgrades disappearing from music retail shops?

Looks like NI wants to have full control over this sale ;)

Think I shall cool it with K9 upgrade nevertheless.

The only thing I really want going from K8 to K9 is Monark, and it would be a little stupid to pay €99 (incl import tax) for the boxed K9 pgrade, when I could buy Monark for about the same and download that (at least) directly from NI.

I agree, it's the third party libraries that rock it.

And they send you the box because it is on a hard drive (and much easy/quicker to install because of it.)

They have a marketing scheme though, like one of our products buy one. But if you like two, you'll end up paying less if you just get us Komplete. And the upgrade follows the same pattern.

Really depends on your needs/wants.
For me, it became a no-brainer because I wanted more Battery and Reaktor. the cost of those was pretty close to just getting the Ultimate upgrade.

Post

Hmm, I misunderstood the sale

I thought they had a 50% off offer on buying Komplete 9 / Ultimate 9 straight

But it is just a sale on updates/upgrade/crossgrades ?

I thought initially this was the sale of the century, but alas no...

Post

I would like to upgrade my Maschine to 2.0, but for some reason this is one of the few upgrades that is not on sale. I could also upgrade my K8U to K9U but even with 50%, I don't find the difference worth it. Just a bunch of boring sampleplay libraries. Must be one of the least interesting komplete upgrades ever.
