I thought initially this was the sale of the century, but alas no...

Just buy anything you can cross-grade from. I started with some drum library that was on sale for close to nothing that I cross-graded to Kontakt 4 that I cross-graded to Komplete 8 Ultimate.

Just posted on the Black Friday thread but it fits here too.
Hum just messing on the NI website and it claimed it would let me crossgrade from DrumMic'a for $125. DrumMic'a is free folks. If true you could then crossgrade to Komplete for $170 on MF or Komplete Ultimate for $375.

I naturally bought Reaktor at €99 when that was on sale previously this year, that deal is pure gold when you look at the terms now, add €200 and go for the full monty = Komplete 9

But since buying Reaktor I managed to find a new boxed version of Komplete 8 for €250

So I'm already sorted for what I need Komplete wise. The Reaktor license has been passed on

So I bought this earlier as an upgrade from Komplete 7 assuming the stuff I need would be downloadable, but looks like they are sending me the boxed version? Seems pretty dumb sending the box considering I only need a few things from it.

Is this how NI do upgrades, or did I make a mistake when ordering?

But how many gigs of sample data does that ship with?

That would be one loooong download.

I'm debating whether or not to do the crossgrade method or hope for a better sale during Christmas. I really want Komplete, but my funds are limited so I want to get the best option. Any thoughts guys?

HI there,

I just came back from a local dealer with a box of K9U (upgrade). Thanks for the USB H/D and I just need to answer few questions (path location etc..) and then I can enjoy my coffee.

I suspect the installation will take around 2 hrs.

I just bought an update from K6 to K9 for $74.50. Of course I'd rather not spend ANY money, but this is way cheap - probably the best I'll ever see from NI.

Here's what I'll be able to use out of it:
Monark
Battery 4
Prism, Spark and the "Retro Machines"
The 7 piece studio effects
The 16 sample libraries (well, I doubt it - but it's always nice to have sample libraries.)

I dunno about the Traktor's 12, I think the only thing I have that they would work in is Guitar Rig and I have never used that even once.

I have current and up-to-date versions of NI's big 4 synths, so that is not even an issue.

But even given those factors, $74.50 + free shipping is superb. 2 thumbs up.

I would also think going from Kontakt 4 to 5 would be useful?
