Finally upgraded to Komplete 9 ultimate.

It's interesting to note that my upgrade is from Komplete 5.. not from Komplete 6 which I had as an upgrade. Does this mean that in the future when upgrading komplete, the system will still count my upgrades from Komplete 5 and not from my Komplete 9 Ultimate? Strange stuff..

whats strange about that? how an upgrade like 6 (which need your komplete 5 as base license) can suddenly appear to be the base product for an upgrade to 9?.

As I understand it, no. But I am wondering about the other pieces of NI I have accumulated which are also included in Komplete. And how much is the e-voucher? Maybe I can buy Razor (not included in the standard K9) while it is still half price.

As I remember voucher is usually $30 and can't be used on sale items. The 50% is the better deal.

And thirded that Reaktor cannot be sold.

Maybe someone who upgrades to Komplete Ultimate and now has duplicate copies of Razor can sell it to me cheaper (hint, hint). During the recent Charity Auction, I won the Stockhausen Reaktor Set which includes Razor patches and haven't been able to use it!

Well.. yeah, maybe it's not that strange but usually other products, like Windows for instance, always takes into account your current version as the upgrade path.. not the first ever version you bought at full price.

So I really hope K9U allows me to get K10U at that particular upgrade point rather than having to pay it again from K5.

Remember, NI has changed how the upgrades work.. it used to be that you could upgrade from any Komplete package to the latest and greatest.. that ended with K9 where you needed K8 to get the cheapest upgrade. So changing this policy now makes my question quite valid.

If I indeed have to upgrade again from K5 then I'm done buying the komplete line of products from NI.. or at least I'll stick with waiting for promotions like Thanksgiving (well to be fair, this is what I've done until now as well ).

really? i doubt it. where do you read this? i had only one price regardless K8 or K2 upgrade path to K9.

Hmm. I was a slight muppet. I bought the Battery 4 upgrade and then, on a whim, Solid Bus Comp, when it would have been cheaper to get the K9 upgrade and get a few extra things in for free.

So, I bought the K9 upgrade and in the new year I'll release the B4 upgrade and Solid Bus Comp onto the marketplace. I should be able to get most of my K9 outlay back, I'm sure. Solid Bus Comp is a great, great compressor.

I'm thinking about buying Komplete Ultimate. The cheapest way to do that is buy Kontakt and the crossgrade and then sell Kontakt afterwards.

Does anybody know can I do that? Will it work just like that?

It won't. The kontakt is the reason you can upgrade in the first place, you can not sell it after u bought the ultimate. They wont alllow it.

exactly that. or you sell kontakt and buy another product that work as crossgrade base license but you'll need one base license (whatever it be) for the crossgrade keep alive.

That's how it was when K9 was released. K8 users got a very cheap upgrade while K2 to K7 users had to pay more. It was like this for quite a while as I recall. Also, K8 users could upgrade to K9 ultimate at a cheaper price at release than K2 to K7 users.

Surely somebody else must remember this or have I been high all this time?

Just noticed this on the terms and conditions on the sales-page:
"Angebot gilt für physische Produkte nur so lange Vorrat reicht." Which roughly translates into: Sale discounts on physical products only apply as long as products are in stock

But they just ran out of K9 Ultimate upgrades, so does the offer still stand? Price is still shows as discounted. I'm confused.

I did the same thing. Upgraded to K9 and then upgraded to session strings pro. After I ordered I realised for an extra 75 euros I would have been able to get K9 Ultimate !
I got in touch with NI right away within the hour and asked to cancel my order so as I could re-order K9 Ultimate. They told me that the order was already processed and I was too late.

Not too chuffed at their response, but hey ho...........

Order placed for Komplete (Ultimate). Sweet. It's been on my list for a long time.

I got the cross-grade to Kontakt (I have an old EWQLSO Gold license registered with NI that qualified) and then )

Pheeleep, I'm trying to find out what further discounts I could get for Kontakt, as I also own a few EastWest products (legally obtained). However, when I go through the purchase process, it says I don't qualify, even though I have a whole hard-drive of 7 of EastWest products. What am I missing?
