I would like to see zebra 3 and more oscs and filters in Diva (even if there would be Diva 2) rather than sampler
Murderous duck!

Although I am a hardcore sampler addict and would love to get the behavior of an EPS or Emu SP or Fairlight as a plug - I agree. I'm getting a bit afraid that Urs and the team already are stretching thin with all their products. Better to concentrate on a few products.3*s wrote:Honestly I'd rather see u-he focus on a core set of really high quality products, rather than stretch themselves thin. Releases take enough time as it is now, and that's fine because quality takes time. But too many products means either corners get cut or release times become unreasonable.

Naaahhhh.
While a sampler module would be nice (something they could weave into existing products)… a dedicated sampler would be pointless.
Moreover, I see a lot of new ideas for sampling around… normal DAWs can also feature samplers in the smattering of tools they give free (Logic, Ableton, Maschine etc).
Lets let U-he work on the new ideas they already have planned… from what I've seen, they probably have something special coming (no one expected Satin).

Really??!
So many people for NO??
The sampler market is not really big, the synth market is! So why are so many people against it????
I dont understand....

Maybe have you thought about it, that Zebra 3 could have a advanced sample player functionality like Absynth already has?

Unless we want to see Urs commited to an asylum for stressed out people, all talk of samplers, sequencers and what not, should be laid to rest. U-he already have Bazille, that Presswerk compressor and Zebra 3 lined up - not to mention updates for the Uhbiks (Uhbik-X anyone?), a Filterscape update... even though the company has grown to more people, there's still plenty of work in the current schedule

Nice idea... but U-he probably have way too much on their plate, as OPs have said.
Plus, Motu and Kontakt have that pretty much sown up I'd say...

Aahaaa, now I understand!
Many things will come, I hope maybe Zebra 3 has a sample resampling to work with samples inside zebra in different ways as example with additive synthesis?

Hi guys,
as there's no official statement in this thread yet, I'll take the liberty of providing one. Completely un-communicated with Urs, and simply based on my observations of what's on the plate and what's possible:
"Not anytime soon".
We have too many thing haunting us already: updates for Satin, Diva, Zebra2, finalizing the AAXes, re-writing the VST3s. Then there's Zebra3, Bazille, Presswerk, and Urs' "weekend project" which might be surfacing as a product sometime in the distant future...
We're a very compact team, we often work over hours "for the love of it" as it is anyway, but there's currently just too little time and too little manpower that we could take on new projects like a full-blown sample-based product without leaving behind all the others.
You never know what the future may bring, but currently it's just not desirable for anyone.
Sorry

No thanks... I prefer Zebra 3 remains pure synthesis...crazyfiltertweaker wrote:david.beholder wrote:I would like to see zebra 3

But if they did do something worthwhile, I'm sure it would be pretty nice.
