Just wanted to double-check... is zebra HZ a strict superset of zebra2? Once one has zebra HZ installed, is there any reason at all to use zebra2? Other than some periods of synchronization where features are released in zebra HZ after a slight delay, that is?
Thanks...
Thanks...

Yes, ZebraHZ can do everything that Zebra does.glittle wrote:Just wanted to double-check... is zebra HZ a strict superset of zebra2? You can use only ZebraHZ. But I usually use Zebra for Zebra sounds just because I like its skin more than ZebraHZ.

They do have a slightly different character in sound though and some things will blend better in each of them when used as separate instances.

Interesting. Can you elaborate on the nature of the difference? Is it simply due to the extra modules (e.g. the Diva filters), or are some of the common modules or common "connective" circuitry actually different?
Are you saying that the exact same patch in Zebra2 would sound subtly different in Zebra HZ, even if no HZ modules were used?

If you don't use any of the extra modules, they sound and are the same.glittle wrote:Interesting. Can you elaborate on the nature of the difference? Is it simply due to the extra modules (e.g. the Diva filters), or are some of the common modules or common "connective" circuitry actually different?

This will probably change in a few weeks, but the latest Zebra (alpha, beta, demo, whatever it is) has a distortion module that the Zebra HZ doesn't have quite yet.

On the same subject :
Is there any commercial preset pack that use the specific modules of Zebra HZ, other than the Dark Zebra ?
