i've noticed if i attempt to load a mulab patch into an earlier version of mux that it doesn't load but there'e also an issue where the mux then goes silent and wont play any patches until i close down the mux vst and then relaunch it.

Loading newer patches in an older version indeed is not supported.

yes, but if you load a newer patch by mistake the mux crashes. it loads the next readable patch but the mux goes silent.

Current solution: Update to the most recent MUX Vst. I don't see a reason why you wouldn't do that, as all MUX Vst updates were free up to now.
