Thank you, Dominic, Spectral rocks! One of the most interesting synths I've come across in a long time.

Just pre-ordered this soundset. The 'Synth Tale' demo is the one that really got me. Just WOW!

Thank you, playing that lead wowed me as well, didn't really expect to program leads like that with Spectral.

+1

I have a slight stability issue with this and Peter has been extremely helpful in trying to isolate the issue

If only some of the bigger companies had customer service like this (yes, I'm looking at you NI & Arturia!)

I'm amazed at some of the sounds being cooked up here.

I'm not into buying patches anymore, but I'd probably pay for some of the quality ones being demo'd here definitely.

I made my first bit of music in months last night and finally got to have a go on Spectral.

First things first.

The installation (that we talked about at length earlier) took me a while because I was expecting the same as what went before with Albino. But hats off to Peter - he really has made the installation very elegant with regards to patch management.

Even though I installed as a user and the patches did not show up, all I had to do was set an initial start-up patch and point to my library which was in my vst folder with Spectral. Flawless logic. I did spend about 20 minutes looking for the patches in my user/admin/appdata/roaming/linplug folder though ;-). So I'm just saying there is no need to be an idiot like me and do that. Whether you install as admin or user - you just point to your library.

And next up -

Using the thing. I didn't get past the first few patches, so insanely tweakable is this thing. Well, that was why I bought it after hearing the demos. Such power at hand. I'd only been using it for five minutes but with sounds comparable to Harmor, I found it an order of magnitude easier to control.

That's about it. I cracked on and made a bit of music. I had four instances going on my pitiful little laptop. CPU could be lighter, but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. It was pretty decent really considering the evolving soundscapes I was getting out of the thing. I use up four engines in Geist and I have steam coming out of the side.

But yeah, I'd definitely be up for buying more sounds for this. I'd love to get into tweaking it myself. But for now, the included presets are enough to be going on with. I really must say to all the sound designers and of course Peter - Congratulations! You really have done an amazing job with this synth.

cheers.

I like that. May I use it? "Sorry, Simon said I should buy it!" :)

I was listening some more to Simon's demos. Truly beautiful... these make me forget that I'm listening to a softsynth, or that it's just one patch. (I'm correct that those are just one patch?) Lots of depth and motion. Truly outstanding sound design!!!

And of course, the patches beautifully illustrate what Spectral is capable of. Well done, Linplug!

The one I just posted (Abracadabra) is only one patch, a few demos in the widget use 2 or sometimes three patches, but I always mention that in the demo description. And thank's for the flowers.

Like this one combines three patches:

This one just came up for me in the Soundcloud player. I see now where every demo has the description that mentions how many patches are featured in the track. Thanks!

I haven't had nearly as much time to play with the demo itself, but one thing that strikes me about the overall quality of the sound (both from trying the demo and listening to the Patchpool examples) is I also really like the presence that this synth exhibits. Which means that I can really go quite deeply into the verb without losing definition.

Spectral, please meet B2... I think you two are going to be very good friends! :)
