Tracktion reboots machine when attempting to play w/ Mbox

I've been trying to get Tracktion to work with my Mbox with no luck. It displays a dialog box with:
"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" (in the title)
"Runtime Error! C:\Program Files\Tracktion\Tracktion.exe R6025 - pure virtual function call"
I have a screenshot of this error, which I can send upon request.
It repeats this dialog box over and over again until I click "ok". Then Tracktion appears to exit, but is still listed in the Task Manager, is not killable in the Task Manager, and eventually reboots my machine.
When I've had the chance to play sounds in the example projects, it comes out all static.
I'm running:
Windows XP SP1 with all the latest patches
Mbox with Pro Tools LE 6.4
Mbox driver version 6.4.0.138
P4 2.4GHz with 1GB ram
I also had Tracktion crash when I added the AmpliTube plugin directory and had a random crash referring to "ReWireDLL.cpp(994) VERIFY failure" (I'm running Reason 2.5)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to get rid of Pro Tools and switch to Tracktion...

You might have tried this. If your computer has a built in soundcard you might want to test starting tracktion without the MBOX to see if it really is causing the problem.

That's a good point. I tried that already, though, and sound plays fine through the built-in sound card, so I'm pretty sure it's the Mbox.
Thank you for your suggestion,

Another friend of mine who uses Tracktion also has similar problems with his interface, and it turned out it was because Tracktion and his device disagreed on the sample rate. I checked that, too. Both are at 44.1, so I'm stumped.

I know.
Two questions:
1.) Is it Tracktion's fault or Digidesign's fault?
2.) Is it going to be fixed?

...And:
3.) Why doesn't it work?
