Filter cc07 on receptor 1.7

Hi,
I recently started using a Roland ax-1 to control my receptor. I'm also using to axioms (with another keyboard player) via a midi merge box.
I have quite complex patches for each song rather than using snapshots I also use channel switching on the controllers for fast switching of sounds as this allows any keyboard to take control of any sound.
Here is my problem, the ax-1 send a cc07 volume message with every patch change. This is forcing the receptor channel volume. If I assign the cc to source plugin, this will stuff with the plug ins volume. What I really want is for the receptor to ignore the cc07 altogether. I know there's no specific option for this but has anyone got a workaround?
Things I've thought of trying, move plugins off the mixer mixer channels that are being controlled by the ax-1. Or, just cranking those channels to 127 and adjusting levels in the source plug-in.
Any other ideas?
I should note, I have left the whole rig with my other keyboard player and there is a lot of patches to get him to update. Te easier the solution, the better.

PRobably the best thing to do, if you can't disable CC7 from being broadcast from your controller (which is really where it should be eliminated!) then you can bypass the RECEPTOR mixer altogether and send MIDI CCs to the plugin. However, the plugins may still respond to CC7 so you might have just moved the problem from one level of the system to another.
Really, the best thing to do is to not send the CC value. If the Roland can't be remedied, you can go with a MIDI Solutions MIDI filter and filter it out that way, but I'd be really surprised if the Roland can't have the CC7 messages suppressed...
If you were in a Receptor 2 running 2.0.1, or a newer model unit like the VIP, you could easily just unlearn CC7 (deassigning volume from that CC#) and that would be that.
Sorry we can't be more helpful!

Thanks Bryan,
The workaround I've come up with is to leave the mixer channel at full tilt, let the ax-1 send cc07@127 and use a simple fader plugin in a fx insert for volume. I don't tend to change volume during performance so this should see me through.
I'd love to step up to a new receptor but alas, I really only do a few shows a year these days and as long as I keep finding workarounds I'll stick with the v1.

Hats off to you for your clever work arounds, and like they say, if it ain't broke don't fix it!dizzidecazz wrote:Thanks Bryan,
