I am trying to wrap my brain around the best way to move into using os 2.01 and live mode after years of using snapshots. What I am used to doing is making general presets in a snapshot with multiple mix channels open for layering, with a lot of muting/unmuting/bypassing of other channels on the fly. I do a lot of improvising and often do things like bring a synth in underneath a melodic instrument as I am playing. I don't necessarily play songs or follow a set list (I do accompaniment for dance classes and need to respond very quickly to what is happening).
I see the solo option, which only works on one rack at a time, but no mute/unmute/bypass in rack/live mode. It can be difficult to keep track of more that 24 or so presets when I am not using them sequentially, and it would take more than that to create all of the instrument combos that I am likely to want to use. Am I not seeing other options here?
What are other veteran receptor users doing to move into the new paradigm? I like a lot of the thought and design behind the new operating system-but the lack of the bypass button is causing me serious panic and confusion!

The 2.0.1 release for R2 does not have the MUTE / SOLO function that just was released in 1.2.1. However, the 2.0.1 release does support all the MIDI learn functions of the MIDI mixer, so you can probably get it to behave you want using that functionality...nathankingcole wrote:I am trying to wrap my brain around the best way to move into using os 2.01 and live mode after years of using snapshots. Mute in Receptor has ALWAYs been controllable in the Mixer mode via MIDI, but V2.0.1 Rack mode does not have the MUTE feature in it. That being said, most people do MUTE through other means, like bypassing, or simply changing presets in LIVE mode...nathankingcole wrote:Is the mute function be controllable by midi?
