I would be more than happy to pay for x.x release updates (v5, v6, v7, etc).

ESC is my go to converter. I accept no other substitutes.

Thanks. Never been good with idioms. :)

Sounds like "Wlod" should consider crowdfunding.

Yeah, a kickstart campaign could work. I'd certainly be willing to contribute, especially if a Mac version is on the cards.

I've owned ESC since version 1.x and it has paid for itself many times over since then.

It doesn't convert as many formats as "the other convertor," but everything it does convert, it does flawlessly with rock-solid stability.

Also Wlod has even implemented a few suggestions that I have made.

Anyway, I wouldn't be too upset if he needed to charge for an update to a new version. Crowdfunding would also work too.
My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Unify = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.

Maybe he should send an email out to his customers explaining that any new updates will have to be paid updates; I will gladly pay for an update if it means ESC gets updated.
ESC is brilliant and works.

I haven't seen any mention of this here but there was an update to ESC this year (Feb 20th) to v3.6.1. It's a small update but big news as far as I'm concerned :)

You can either wait for Windows-only software that has been abandoned for over a decade, or go with a highly supported, less expensive, with about 3x the features with Chicken Systems Translator (Mac and Windows). AFAIK Translator does everything that ESC does and much, much, much more.

If anyone has any concerns about Translator's performance, reliability, workflow, or anything that concerns you, simply contact us by any methods - by phone, or text, or email. We would be happy to exceed all expectations and respond to all serious/non-serious requests.

@chickeneps
That's all well and good but there are people here who use ESC who I'm sure would be interested to know that there has been a recent update - perhaps even a revival.

Your reputation is not good though. Features do not equal quality. Your software is on my pretty short list of "nope. Never." due to how you've treated customers in the past.

I’ve had pretty good support. Friendly and fast. I have the latest version and I’m happy with my purchase.

Glad to hear that. Doesn't change my mind though. The weird requirement that the software will be sent out on a physical DVD/CD also makes it a complete no-go for me.

To put it frankly: I just don't trust the Chicken systems company at all. They have a really shady past which makes me reluctant in dealing with them at all.. and ESC has been working for me for years so there's no reason to change to anything else. Even to this day, it's autosampling for VST plugins works really well.. though to be fair, lately I've been using the auto sampling from my MPC Live instead, to sample my hardware synths.
