Going with the new clean look, some new rules have been implemented: no more swear words, nothing obscene or sexual, nothing political and no more fighting, immediate bans are automatically implemented whenever you break these rules.

There was a forum update? I guess I must have missed it.
Seriously though, I like it... it's got that new forum smell about it.

My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Unify = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.

Hope you had a decent holliday Ben, in spite of this.
It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently no longer an 'elderly', now a 'senior'! Is that promotion?

Glad we're back.
Now you can make other users Friends
or Foes
.
Don't get too excited. Apparently you see when Friends are online and Foes posts are hidden.

Is there an option I can invoke to... err...
...actually, it's a nice scheme. I really like the way my Stylish script was pretty much unaffected, too.

As a temporary solution for the far too bright colors one could use stylish plugin for firefox to override them.
As a start here is a quick 'n dirty attempt

There is... but you need to put on some ruby red slippers and invoke a chant...markoos wrote:Is there an option I can invoke to revert back to the old display/colours? I need to give it a while until the new forum smell fades...
OR
You could just read what Ben [KVR] has written about making sure the forum is running smoothly and bugs are ironed out, before he changes the skin.
Ben [KVR] wrote:The current theme is a tweaked version of the standard phpbb theme, which should do the job for a while. It'll be refined and tweaked no doubt (with the whole of KVR being massaged together a bit more of course), but a dark theme will follow (and be user selectable).
For now, I'm more concerned with the timeouts and server load issues we are currently experiencing since the upgrade.

My initial thoughts and questions.
Too light in comparison to old look.
Don't like the wasted space that is created by shorter posts due to the members side information panel: see following posts. This is going in the same direction as Music-Society.
Is there someway that I can widen it so that I can actually utilize my large screen and see more headings at once (Image-Line forum style) ? Stretch it to have single line headings.
Haven't tried it with XP yet but will not be using it with the internet anyway come April.
I'd prefer a darker theme (glad a dark theme is confirmed)... too bright!
interesting that the right sidebar is gone... I kinda liked having the recent posts, reviews, videos, news listings there... but I also like that more space is available for actual posts... except that the right sidebar has essentially been replaced by the member side panels which take up like 30% of the width and which provide no useful info (to me)

I also don't care for the animating thread images... too intrusive compared to the old ones which just pulsed slightly...
I'd like an option to not show the animation of smilies too... or fold the smilies but still have them available
