Hello!

I have a friend of mine who is trying to run Mulab 5 in linux (We've tried Mint-64bit and Ubuntu-32bit) and we've encountered problems.

http://www.mutools.com/mulab/tutorials/ ... n%20linux/

We've followed this set of instructions but when we look to select a sample rate from the wineasio driver there is none. There is no input or output devices. We checked the Jack audio panel and we can not see the wineasio client.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi Dakkra,

Probably not a lot of help as such, but I can confirm that MuLab runs perfectly on Mint 64 or 32 MATE, Cinnamon untested. Also good with Puppy and SlackPuppy. In all cases fine with WINE or using VirtualBox loaded with Win XP or 7. Standard PC audio card and M-Audio FastTrack Pro work fine.

No talent or intelligence required on my part :) It just worked.

It's possible that my requirements are less demanding than yours, but everything I have expected has been as it happened.

If not already tried, it would be worthwhile ensuring that all the hardware works with a free Linux DAW such as LMMS

Cheers,
Craig

We figured it out! Turns out we could just use Wine MME to emulate a sound driver! This was done on Mint 64bit.

@Mutools: If you would like, my friend and I would be willing to write up a little tutorial on how to do it

Sorry for the little intrusion on the forums!
