Tempo Not Syncing With Reaper

Hi everyone. I just bought and installed MDrummer. I'm running the 64-bit version on the latest 64-bit version of Reaper. The tempo is always grayed out and unavailable in the rhythm editor, and does not change as I'm changing tempo in Reaper. Any idea why this is? Thanks

PS When I downloaded version 4.08, there was also a download for 4.08 update. Do I need this, or is this for those updating from earlier versions? Thanks again.

Edward

Have you pressed the tempo sync on?

I don't have the MDrummer but in other MeldaPlugins that can be synced to host tempo there is small on/off button in the header "Synchronization"
I on top of O on the left side of button "Midi reset".
Press that and the controls should turn active and the rate knob is grayed out.

Or at least that is how it works in other plugins.

I think we have already figured this out ;). The problem is, that edkilp didn't even press playback, so MDrummer didn't receive the tempo from Reaper yet...

Just for updating from earlier versions.

Because, as you know, MDrummer always syncs to Reaper's tempo when you playback (from Reaper). However, note that the greyed out MD tempo value does update to Reaper's value if you close then open MD (not that you need this), and also note that even though greyed out you can still tap a tempo and hear that tempo using MD's play button (useful for quickly auditioning different tempos without Reaper actually playing). That's one of the things I like about MD, you can do the whole Rhythm Editing thing with it's own play, play beat, play break etc in a sort of sandbox away from Reaper, then hit the space bar to kick in the midi commands and hear it all with your other tracks.
Another couple of things, sort of related, don't go pressing Song Structure mode's buttons when you're using Midi Command (use one or the other), and be aware that if you are using song structure mode, then the play, play beat etc buttons in rhythm editor won't do as you expect.
And another thing, those options in the additional button...sequencer and auto breaks, they only apply when using the rhythm editor transport, not midi command or song structure. Random loops option applies across the board ( but you need more than one loop available in your loop index list for that to actually work).

Thanks, guys. I have a lot to learn about this program, and I intend to master it eventually. I've already reached the point where I can be productive with it, and I look forward to many more discoveries along the way!
