You only know how much you love your audio interface after it blows up...
Cheers,
Tom

It's the filter cutoff fm amount, for modulating the filter with the audio oscillators. I understand that Polysynth has a zero delay feedback filter as well. Quite surprising as it's remarkably low on CPU usage.pdxindy wrote:I am curious and not angry... no offense meant, but perhaps you can be a little less quick to give your philosophy unasked to others.
It is not obvious (or was not to me) that the unison knob was for detune and the voices are set below. I thought the field below was info for what the knob was set to.
Likewise, there is no indication on the gui that the field under shape is for PW...
I missed the Osc FM knob over in the filter section. That is FM between Osc1 and Osc2?
Thanks for the explanations...justin3am wrote:It's the filter cutoff fm amount, for modulating the filter with the audio oscillators. Polysynth is pretty deep synth. That said, I just think of it as a building block in a sound design environment. For example the XY container device can be use to control parameters but it's also a vector mixer for four different instruments. The XY pad itself can be the target of modulation devices. The effect slots in the instruments work on a per note basis and modulation sources from the instrument can be applied to these effects. This even works with VSTs.
The FM synth and Organ sound great as well. They work really well together to make much more complex instruments and it's all surprisingly easy to use.
Wow, crazy I had not heard that. I think I'm gonna have to play with that just to wrap my head around the possibilities. It must be pretty easy to send the cpu through the roof like that, right?justin3am wrote:The effect slots in the instruments work on a per note basis and modulation sources from the instrument can be applied to these effects. I think he means you could put a vst into the slot, not that vst's would have a per note effects slotOgopogo wrote:Wow, crazy I had not heard that. Edit. Hold on I think I'm missing something; how can it work with vsts? In order for an effect to be on each note you would have to have each note isolated to process, so how can an vst do that without creating duplicates of the vst in the background to create each voice?
So not just a sample, you can use whatever you want.ZenPunkHippy wrote:There's a new device called "Replacer". It has a threshold control combined with a generator object.Ogopogo wrote:Any other goodies?
When the input signal rises over the threshold, the specified note + velocity is used to triggered the instrument (generator). So for example, with a 4x4 kick pattern, it is possible to replace the kick with a tom (or a synth note ...) in real time. With more complex rhythmic sounds this will be very useful.
Peace,
Andy.
